I'll will just say though, that when you're firing a long burst like 5-6 shots with the SAW, you are most definitely not hitting a target at 50m with all of them, or even 40m. Regardless of how well you compensate for recoil, the cone of fire is much larger than a target would be at that range. The 3.4x or 4x scope is really just showing you the magnitude of the problem.
I've known people to use a 4x scope on the SAW, and generally they fire 2-round bursts at those sort of ranges. With most guns you really don't want to fire more than 3-rounds at a time, especially the NC weapons. CoF resets pretty quickly, so you can feather out rounds like that not very far off the gun's maximum rate of fire.
Personally, at the kind of range I'd want a 4x scope for, I use a Battle Rifle instead.
I may have assumed that anyone still using the Gauss SAW at the point where they were experimenting with scopes on automatic weapons would already have those attachments.
But yes, if you're using the SAW and don't have the Advanced Forward Grip and Compensator installed, then you should probably do so. Do not, however, use High Velocity Ammo on the SAW. The extra recoil will just put you back to square one, and the SAW's muzzle velocity is already damn high anyway.
