Can't make Daybreak account?????????????

Why the ♥♥♥♥ can't I make a daybreak account?

Launch game - says log in with daybreak account. I don't have one. Click on create account. Opens up ps2 website and displays a message on the page saying "We're sorry, but you are unable to sign up for a Daybreak Account at this time."

Tried multiple times other the past 2 days.

EDIT: Randomly tried again today.
typed "Planetside 2 daybreak account" into google and clicked the first link. "planetside2 dont com / register"
Was able to create the account this time.

Maybe the link from the launcher/initial log in screen after opening the game is corrupt?
