Won't let me play!
everytime I load up the game and click the green play game button it says game is loading please wait so I do and nothing happens so I click it again and it exits me out. Help!

On the launcher theres a spanner in the bottom right, click it and use the option to check your file versions against the current release, should fix all problems.

i'm having the same problem for i while now, but i thought a new pc would fix the problem. It doesnt.

i too have the same problem. I click the green play button it says loading game then it stops. nothing happens and i can do this as many times as i want and it never even closes the launcher like other people say. i have contacted customer support they made me disable all programs that might be interfering even anti virus software and that didn't work. then i had to send them some diagnostics files and after i sent them those i didn't get any response for the last few days. it's like they forgot or something.

My friend has been having the same problem. he tried to validate the files through steam rather than the launch client and ended up downloading the entire game again so my reccomendation would be to validate through the game launch client as its more reliable and sorts this issue most of th time.

Same thing happening to me. Installed Windows 8.1, latest graphics drivers for my Radeon 6970, reinstalled Steam and PS2 and now I can't load up PS2...PS2 was working fine with my old Windows 8, no hardware changes, is Steam screwing up the downloaded files? Verifying integrity of game chache in Steam redownloads a large chunk of missing files but this doesn't fix anything, PS2 still exits the launcher when you press PLAY and nothing happens, even using the PS2 launcher to check game assets doesn't fix anything. Stumped.

Disabling Proxy in my newly installed Firefox solved the issue, never had Firefox do that to me before...
