Honest cheating feeback

I played planetside years ago and wanted something to dip in and out of when i have free time.

How bad is the cheating? I've seen a lot of comments and reviews saying its really bad? is it really that bad or are people doing the usual crying louder than the general population thing?

A lot of it is crying. A good example is that a lot of people belive that entire outfits are cheating even tho they just have really good players playing for the outfit. You do get some cheaters that fly and shoot through walls but those are really rear.

I get cheat tells all the time, and Im natural, don't even have the recursion program installed..... So this leads me to believe that people are just coping and full of crap...Although sometimes, I do some crazy things while drift jeting, which amazes some people so they think Im hacking lol(people aren't use to the speed of drifters + Accurate Hipfire)...Most negative reviews are just people coping on why they suck IMO.


Having said that....I do think there is subtle hackers(Like 1-5%), it's hard to prove, but this isn't just Planetside tho, I think this is all FPS gaming.....Plenty of subtle hackers who cheat, but don't do crazy cheats like Flying Maxes or something ban worthy but they still cheat in subtle ways.


Is the subtle hacking, enough to ruin the game? Not IMO, I still think most players are natural and these subtle hackers aren't destroying enough that I can't get on top of the leaderboards....I still do and have a lot of fun....So yeah, it isn't ruining Planetside IMO but the obvious hackers are annoying when they pop up, which is rare from my experience.

There are a lot of cheaters in planetside 2, it's one of a few reasons as to why the playerbase is so low now. It used to be good at one point but after Wrel took over it started to go downhill

Tell me you played on soltech without telling me you did.

Few reasons, now you know you are trolling or hating.
There is more then a few reasons.

For one NPE(new player experience) is bad, like really bad, theres no match making, so the new players gets murder ♥♥♥♥♥♥ by vets over and ever, and the tutorial is bad, the game dont tell you why you should burst fire, it got nothing to do with recoil, but all to do with cone of fire/bullet bloom.

The devs dont take feed back, and there is a big disconnect between the devs and the player base. Sometimes they add new guns, like the xbow, and the better thumper/Helios.
Which they only tease us about and dont test on the test server first, or they add ♥♥♥♥ they think is cool, without thinking of balacing at all, till people get fed up, mauler cannons anyone?

The marketing is very very bad, like crazy bad.

The gun play and engine is old, and its showing.

This game is a Comebined arms game, but the tanks dont not take part in taking bases, you just use them to farm infantry, or kill the spawn points, or counter the ones who does it. The planes farm infantry. Been heshed by a tank farm away in a good fight is just...

There are people who rage quit over infiltrators, sure the cloak ant was removed, but the wraith(cloak) flash remains with the renegade(shotgun gun) And smg and stalker infils.
Worst are the CQC snipers, the hil snipersl was are just tiresome, but CQC that is very strong, and very infuriating.

The implant packs(lootboxes) yes thats what they are, and the whole cash shop.
New players thinks the guns they start with are ♥♥♥♥, and they need to buy guns to be better, alot think this way.

Ping/latency, dying behind cover is normal in this game, the new players are not told this. and think you are cheating. In a 1v1 with good ping on both sides, who ever pushs first while the other stand stills, have a big advantage, where in a split second, the pusher gets to see the other first befor the other sees him, and with headshots making a dual very short, time to kill is a split second, this means you could die on hes screen, befor you get to see him on your end, and this becomes a bigger problem when there is much higher ping on either side, but atleast even the guy with high ping suffer when he trys to take cover.

They added kill cams to help with people not knowing what they died to.
It helps when people are blatent cheating too, this way you can record and report the peopel cheating, it also helped vs hill snipers, now you know where they are, and you can counter them easy.

On the server soltech(asian server) there is alot more cheating, its way more commen over there. On the rest however its far less, and every server got a few people who call anyone a cheating, you almost can't kill them without them calling there killer a cheater.
This game runs Battle Eye anticheat, and we all know how good this anti cheat is... NOT very good... They use to have a better one, but it would ban anyone who got too good to fast, so yeah.

I have also gotten my fair few of people calling me a cheater, i save most of them, the last i got was from a guy on VS cobalt, the guy didt know that you can use a scope to see cloaks far away, and he said i could get banned for bug abusing O.o Like he got 11k hours on that charator alone, and yet he dont know how to see cloaks..

Yesterday it was pretty bad, imagine having a couple hours to play video games so you decide to play planetside 2 only to be sent to one of the "backup continents" (even as a member because everyone else is also playing) that suck ♥♥♥♥ which by themselves wouldn't be that bad but they also happened to feature BR10 commissioners straight up running through walls and there even was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of people lagswitching to spam orbital strikes.

I play on Emerald and i can assure you people don't even try to hide the cheats. so no i am not trolling and you are of course entitled to your opinion.

Planetside 2 used to be a good game in its prime but now its essentially on life support with the occasional update here and there, if they ever plan on making Planetside 3 i do hope they improve the engine for it

Once every blue moon you get a hacker that is aimbotting for a few hours before getting banned, 99.9% of hackusations you'll see are just people who are bad.

The game is poorly optimized and there is a big skill gap between good and bad players so for a bad player with bad fps it might look like the good player with good fps is cheating because he is running around tapping headshots.

So what type of cheating is blatent atm? I for sure dont see anything blatent.
Its not on life support, they added to much heavy content for that to be true.
Building overhaul is to big of an update to be life support.

I do recall the game been on life support befor cv19 happend, so must have bee around 2015-2019 mabye, some where around those years.

i have dipped into and out of planetside for years now. I have had some "questionable" encounters, but really only a hand full of times. I think honestly 99% of the the people yelling about cheating are probably just bad, or don't understand how certain guns work or mechanics etc.

Actual blatant cheaters are quite rare on Emerald. They do exist but rarely do I see a flying max, someone go through walls, aim bot, or anything of that nature. The majority of the time, what looks suspicious can be explained by lag like getting shot behind a wall because on the other player's screen you are still running behind said wall and therefore got latency killed.

There is a cheater every now and then on connery unless recursion is on then there's a full outfit of them, other then that it's fine.
