PlanetSide 2

PlanetSide 2

Battlefield 2142
This game reminds me SO much of battlefield 2142. That was my first PC multiplayer FPS and it had a similar idea/feel compared to PS2. Are there any former BF2142 players on here? I am in love with this game.

but it is WW1, unless they have a fantasy mode, where mech come out of nowhere, athough WW1ish mech warfare, seems abit intereting

The feeling. Not the atmosphere. BF1 is going to be interesting for sure.

I like the WW1 approach as well

2142 WAS AN AWESOME GAME. Was one of the only battefield games i enjoyed flying in. The mechs were awesome to, surprised this game never had vehicle sized mechs.

Yeah, those were the days. That game was the first thing I thought of when I opened this up.

I miss blowing up buildings... and trees. Getting really tired of bulletproof wood and leaves.

Damnit, my mind just did the mental equivalent of a Wiki-Walk and now I'm imagining Battlefield: Iron Kingdoms[files.privateerpress.com].

I thought the same when I first played. 2142 was awesome hope they make a sequel one day. For now Planetside 2 is King.

Eh, as long as it's just a cheap marketing gimmick i'm ok with having a near indestructibe enviroment. That said, i'm not sure that PS2 or the forgelight engine can handle enviromental destructibles in a semi-realistic style.

I don't see how evolving terrain and destructible cover is a marketing gimmick. Being able to clear or create obstructions to open or block firing lanes, is a huge tactical element.

I agree that PS2 is not really designed for it, despite one of the loading screens showing a Bio-dome crashing down, because one of its support legs had been blown off. :steamsad:
