Best guns?
I'm not sure what I expect since a lot of people seem to just claim the factions they don't play have the better guns but I guess I'm gonna risk it anyway. I've played VS the most but I've still played each faction. I'm curious to know what people who have more time in the game think.

Obviously, even within a faction, some guns are just better. Anyway, here's my current feel, personally:

VS
The no-bullet-drop gimmick is pretty useless. It's most useful at longer ranges, but imo the most meaningful engagements are either at close or medium range. In general, the guns aren't bad, but they lack variety. A lot of the guns that stray further from the average also have a weird and potentially annoying gimmick tied to them.

TR
Very fun but sweet merciful monkey the horizontal recoil on some of the guns... feels like you have to pick between close or medium range more than the other factions with the attachments. The hailstorm smg seemed unusually fun to me though.

NC
Also quite fun. Vertical recoil is real but it's easier to deal with than horizontal recoil. High damage per bullet rewards tap-firing at medium range with guns that wouldn't normally be as good at that range. Overall it feels like NC guns are the most likely to have a slight edge over the other factions.

I'm not as familiar with vehicle-mounted weapons, but the VS empire-specific guns are very annoying to me. As soon as the "I'm shooting plasma/lasers!" novelty wears off, they feel quite awkward. Not sure about the other factions, though the reaver shotguns 1 or 2-tapping most infantry is probably what stands out the most to me as being more annoying than its counterparts.

You nailed your weapons analysis. VS weapons trade ease of use for damage potential, they are the noob-friendly faction weapon-wise. TR weapons dominate the close range but lacks mid and long range options. NC has the highest skill ceiling but reward experienced players the most. If you can manage the NC recoil, their arsenal is the best and the most deadly.

NC are the best gun they are easy to use predictable and have some of the best upgrades/attachements(advanced laser and grips). Hard vertical recoil but strongest damages.

VS thanks to no bullet drop and having no real downside do always work but rarely "shine".
No drop but above average accuracy and damages at all range mean you never completely useless

TR suffer from horrible spread patern and their bonuses aree gimmicky... big mag high ROF but long reload and lower damage per bullet is painfull . They are very CQC oriented... almost to a fault to be honest. plus the loing reload mean they have to rely more on other members to be around them to cover

Addition: NC and VS guns can be used in full automatic to some extend - TR usually has to rely heavily on burst fire (limiting the practical RoF)

My main account is NC, when I started playing in 2013, I always thought TR is OP because of their fast fire rate and i thought VS is to OP because they have alienpower with exploding lasers. (I was only 12 or 13 year old at the time) I only chose NC because my uncle played there and I thought with every weapon and every vehicle that NC only has trash.

Today it feels more balanced to me, although I still hate TR's vehicles.

But I have to admit that 75% of the time I play NS weapons instead of NC weapons now.

So it's not just me. Though, I would still say that any disparity isn't particularly massive to me. Maybe it's more pronounced with vehicle weapons but I don't spend a lot of time firing those.

If the differences were too noticeable, one faction would dominate consistently and that's just not the case. I'll just think "I didn't deserve to win this encounter" slightly more often with NC than other factions.

I'm not sure what to think of the NS weapons. The secondaries seem much better than the primaries though there are interesting gimmicks for primaries.

Dont know best but I know the worst.

Tr weapons dont dominate anything even in cqc, you get kicked in the balls by everything because they dont have the firerates or mag sizes to make a big difference compared to other faction equivalents guns on top of being harder to use with the recoil + speard pattern. Worst weapons but you make due.

Best gun depends on the Situation im in.
In offense on a base enforcing close range like a Biofarm or some of the tighter bases I will go Battlegoose or MSW-R, tho id say with SPA the MSW-R is better.
Some people also like the slightly better control on the Orion due to the grip, I can understand that and after all a weapon is only so good if you can use it.

For defense/holding points Butcher, Butcher and Butcher, 150 Rounds on a Carv is good, the slightly better firerate is neglible in terms of ttk, but its free so why not.

When I don't know where my Squadlead will drop me, NS-15 all the way, this gun can do everything mediocore, so its never a bad bet, but also not "the best".
Or maybe the best in being always a solid choice.

There is also some pretty good ARs and Carbines, but id make a hilarious long list if id include weapons of every category here.

The best TR LMG I brought to battle so far was the T32 Bull - the only one that actually can hit targets on a reliable basis (even better than many TR carbines or assault rifles)

Thanks, I've been putting more time into TR these days; the gun suggestions will come in handy. Still think the Hailstorm is a lot of fun (and you can use it with every class), but it's short range.

No worries, I didn't really mean for people to post a complete breakdown of all the weapons, I was just wondering if my analysis was correct and to have an idea of what weapons stand out.

If you like the Bull, you will also like the Cougar, a hard hitting slow firing carbine with controllable recoil.

Yeah there is not really a long range SMG in game.
The "long range" PDW falls short against most things on range, tho it is still a okish gun.
The other one is the Shuriken with HVA, A Grip and a extended magazine trying to nudge it towards longer range play, but your better of using that one like a traditional armistice.
