And honestly "listent to the playerbase" it's a controversial statement. You don't represent the entirety of the playerbase. I for instance wouldn't want friendly fire gone.
Friendly fire keeps the already obnoxious spam this game has in check. If anyone could spam at their leisure with complete disregard for friendlies in the way, the quality of the fights, which is already terrible for infantry, would be even worse which is what we are seeing these days.
*Applause*
"As an April Fools joke to give you hope that we actually care, so that we can dash it and push the hell out of the bundles"
*Boos*
No idea who those "a lot of people" are who asked for that.
High-yield Tactical Facepalm dropped.
To add to it, playing NC or VS i almost every time can't tell the difference between friend or foe by looking at them (TR is different, because, well, they're red. not blue or DARKER BLUE). To add to it. i've been in more than my fair share of firefights where i'm fighting NC or VS depending on my current side, only to barely win out with a smidge of health, some friendly comes around the corner, sees the guy drop, turns towards me and instinctively fires.
Since you want to go "it's war, deal with it" VS and NC's colors are too close together, if this "is war". Most any time two factions face off and find their sides looking too similar, one of them will change because of collateral casualties on their side. Yet neither VS or NC have done so. Why? Because the devs didn't put as much thought into the "it's war" idea as you're trying to give it credit for.
To add to it, they penalize you for killing friendlies. If we're talking about "it's war. deal with it" again, like you're proposing, guess what, in most cases of friendly fire where someone dies or is injured? no charges come up on the person, because it is viewed as an accidental casualty. Which would mean removing the penalty. WHICH would mean giving griefers more power.
You can change the colors for each faction in Settings>Interface, on the right-side column.
Sorry to hear your condition affects the gameplay, but for those that can see color it is a vital means of identifying friend or foe.
The best solution would be the implimentation of a feature that would assist people who have one type of colorblindness or another. The least you can do is write DB and explain them the problems you encounter and ask them if they can help the game in assisting people with colorblindness.
I am guessing your are blind to the color red, because purple without red is blue, and you see two blue teams NC and Vanu, and TR is just dark red probably. I suggest you assign dark color to friendlies, and use a bright color to indicate the enemies so they stand out.
But even i who isn't colorblind doesnt always notice in time wether someone is friend or foe, i can assure you this is not just you being colorblind, we all have our moments where we have to process the possibility and sometimes judge wrongly.
And did you read and understand any of the comments that people posted here?
Regardless of my curiosity on that subject, I wouldn't play a big shooter with a lot of explosive weapons if a team could just breach areas with a spam of grenades coming in with them... what a cluster of crap that is.
FF keeps it somewhat tactical. Players have to think before rushing in and pay attention to what their teammates are doing, or were doing before they arrived.
