Masamune any good?
I'm currently playing TR so I'm considering getting that or the Swarm. I noticed the striker just tickles armor.

Striker for anti-air, Masamune is good for all the others. Striker used to be good against armor as well until after the combined arms initiative update.

yeah the striker combined with other means of AA is a lethal punch, its kind of our bread an butter AA rocket launcher as it gives little to no lock warning.

Masamune is a great companion to it, laser guided rockets for long range, great vs. larger ground game and maxes, and the scatter dumb fire shot is also a great way to enter a room.

The Masamune has the highest damage per minute of any launcher against heavily armored targets like tanks, but that comes at the cost of either sitting dangerously still while guiding the rockets or an inaccurate hipfire (albeit a one-hit-kill if all rockets connect to a human target).

If you only engage infantry / MAXes at very close range, then the Masamune does everything the Decimator does, but better. If you're engaging from further away, the job can be done better by other launchers.

It's a tradeoff. Make your own informed decision.

Played around with the Masamune some more earlier, and I gotta say it's pretty good. The wire-guided missiles (right click usage) are actually extremely easy to aim with. It was a trial run as I've never bought it with certs yet. I think I actually might now.

Interesting, Armos. I've been considering eventually upgrading the standard TR dumbfire rockets on the HA. They are okay, but I've been fired upon by other factions with a rapid firing multiple rocket lock-on device, and I have to say, it can really hurt my lightning. Whatever it was, it seemed to fire up to 6 missiles, and it was pretty hard to avoid getting hit by some of them. I think I got hit by 3 or so, most times. Of course, I wasn't expecting such a device to exist, so used to either the standard dumbfire launcher or the Phoenix attacking like in PS1 days. (And no, if was not the LA rocklet rifle, I know that sound by heart, and this did seem to track my movements, as I rarely move straight when under lock-on).

I'm not sure if it was all six missiles firing in one launch, more like a semi-auto missile launcher, but I'm talking about probably 1 per second or so, maybe 2 per second.

Anyway, I'll keep in mind the Masamune, as the idea of a laser guided missile that also can dumbfire up close, seems to fit the bill as an upgrade. Ease of use is important. I'll have to try it on trial as well.

Thanks for the info to all.

if it was 6 missiles and they didnt lock on, that was the striker. its meant for AA but works on tanks in a pinch. the NS variant of it is the swarm, but im not a huge fan. for non TR factions its a nice solution for getting lots of locks on a target.

Possibly the Swarm then. Hard to count when you are dying, but probably was the same one I had seen earlier and later. Good to know. I'll keep the Striker on my TR view as well then.
