And? Thousands still play the game and it’s still fun. Who cares if it’s not pulling in launch numbers. It has enough people playing to continue to have huge fights and be enjoyable.
5k peak players daily isn't dead. You are ridiculous.
is that all servers added up?
though... on Miller the usual Night shift is just about to end and the Morning shift slowly starts to take over... than it will become somewhat calm around midday... until the Prime Time Boys come online and Auraxis will burn for some hours... until the late evening... and the cycle begins again.
i honestly haven't seen Miller literally empty (unless for the updates) since 2013, when i started.
Even if it was all the servers added up (I believe there's a bit more if you actually do add all the servers up) 1k-2k players per server is not "dead" lmfao.
I've played actual dead/dying games. This isn't one of them.
Scroll down and look at the numbers.

My honest opinion is that as far as Connery [and even Emerald to some extent] the groups of high latency players ruin the game experience.
Even zergs can be worked around tactically.
But yesterday I saw heavies just disappear.
I was killed through several walls and through a crate.
My ping was 80.
Certain people are untouchable. Hitreg issues.
These are caused by unacceptable latency mechanics that distort gameplay and make it not even resemble what is really going on.
This isn't frigging Tenet guys.
i feel your pain over here... EU also has issues with those high latency players.
but i must admit, some of them are not even responsible... they got merged in without even knowing.
and some just have an awefull ISP...
This is why there are rising cases that's accelerating day by day because people started throwing 50-200 person sized parties.
11k of the cases are from infection by delivery drivers that cross-border between USA and Canada btw.
PS2 is an MMO with an average pop across the past 30 days of 1.75K split between 7 severs which means most of the time it's even less than that, at a couple hundred players, and falling every month. Besides, you cannot measure an MMO by the same standards as other games that can offer a balanced and meaningful experience with only 6-32 players or even as much as 64 in the case of games like Battlefield. A 12 vs 12 even at a minor base is not a great experience in PS2.
The devs literally said the Escalation update with a prior 3K population was literally make or break for the game and whether it would be worth continuing its existance.
Yeah i guess i could concede that 5K peak for 2-3 hours at the weekend offers a viable gaming experience (for the modern person that actually consistently gets weekends off this must be convenient) and you could argue in the short run that's the most important metric if you as an individual are satisfied, but such a brief snapshot of the games health doesn't offer any information for deducing where it's going or where it came from.
The game had new life breathed into it in February and it's almost impossible to tell to what extent that is a result of the update(s) and game itself or the millions of people out of work trying out a free game. But one thing is certain, the game is not managing to retain the players it has. The Colossus update only increased the average player count by 200 people. For an MMO that is pretty damning for the "state of the game" that is supposed to sustain several thousands at minimum.
Like Planetside Arena?
