I wish this game was more simish but its not and it has its own set of rules/mechanics on how things work.
I never had a problem dying in "Star conflict" from " everyone driving perfectly". The game is asynchronous. since everything has a counter, why not expand on that and make it more fun. for example: if a player is abusing a tank to ran over enemy players, an enemy engineer could be made to explode in a nuclear explosion if ran over, destroying the tank in the process.Or an infiltrator disabling a Max unit instead of being able to snipe it or "Stab thru thick steel" to one-shot the Max.Forcing the player to either redeploy or wait for an engineer to fix it. which can be exploited to kill important players from the opposite team. So far into the game, it feels like a pay to win because stronger weapons and mods will always win over tactics.
Why abusing? There's actually an entire directive branch for it and you need it to unlock the next tier of the achievements...
A tank costs from 225 to 450 nanites. You get 50 nanites per minute without boosts. Meaning that to spawn a tank you need from 4 to 9 minutes to pull another and you can't throw nades, use medikits, C4, mines in the process or you slow the whole thing down since they consume nanites too. I hate the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ vehicles and I'm 99.99% infantry player, but what you suggest make no sense. You should not be able to destroy a 450 nanites vehicle just by going jiadi and blow yourself up. You can do it anyway, with C4. At least requires skill and the C4 nanites.
Same as above. MAX units are 450 nanites and as I hate them like anybody else, what you suggest make no sense. Why would such power be granted to the infiltrator, which is already and OP class in the hand of a skilled player (invisible OHK sniper, top kek. OP EMP nade that disable EVERYTHING in game, topper kek). Need to deal with MAX? Pull heavy, rocket him down, pull an Archer Engi and two-shot the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ or pull a MAX yourself.
Actually it's the opposite, because tactics will always win over gear in planetside 2. You can spend all your daddy's money onto all the guns in the game but if the enemy drops a platoon over your head, all your money mean ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. There are no "stronger" weapons in planetside 2, and if you mean by "stronger" MAX or vehicles, you can always pull those yourself. Only thing you buy in planetside 2 are cosmetics. Everything else you can unlock without spending a dime. So your definition of "pay to win" is flawed.
One thing you need to realize is that in this game you won't do ANYTHING alone. This is no CoD hero where one supergeared dude can wipe out the enemy team. In this game if you want to achieve something you have to do it with a squad or platoon of other players, and when that's involved, tactics > gear.
And even if you go bushido 1v1 against another dude, "gear" difference in planetside is so minimal that you can mow through that BR120 with your BR1 starting gun if you are skilled enough because his "gear" you can unlock in litterally 1 hour of playtime (if it's not given to you already for free when you create the char).
You need to get your facts straight bro.
I took another player with me and i jumped on a Max. Sure enough, he could kill both of us while taking a barrage from my Max and the Engineer helping me.
And 450 for a MAX that gets destroyed at spawn. How would that be fun if not frustrating and deter from using vehicles?. I am suggesting the gameplay should be changed slightly to make it more asynchonous. A game that does it pretty decently is "Dead by Daylight". A Max should not be able to be killed by an infiltrator and a frontline soldier should not die from a light infantry not matter how good the latter is.
That is assuming no abandon or kick during the whole fight. And Assuming makes an Ass out of U and Me. A max should be able to defend a point until a tank runs him over or a frontline soldier blasting him not from an infiltrator stabbing or sniping him. I should not be able to kill a light infantry falling from the sky with a tank just cause i m that accurate.funny to watch and I should miss 90% of the time no matter what. The game fail to take into account overclocking. I can ran into a building shoot the area i know someone is and ran out before i am registered on their screen.
I know for a fact some players have wondered why they took a damage/shield went down and are unaware of who did it or where.
I realized i m partially wrong about the Pay-to-win thingy, i just don't understand how a lower lvl than me have a higher lvl weapon and mods farming me with his friends at a spawn point( the Vehicle).Even a MAX cannot deter them from attacking or force 'em to switch to a class that can destroy the MAX. And My "Moped" blowing up should throw me out of it with some damage, not instantly die with the vehicle.
If he brought dual anti-armor weapons (best against vehicles/maxes) and you brought the default max loadouts of 1 anti-infantry and one anti-armor/anti-air weapon, then he should kill you in half the time it takes you to kill him because he was prepared. As you yourself said a MAX even half dead should have no trouble killing the engineer once your MAX is down.
A: If you're being "sniped" as a MAX it is likely an engineer with an anti-material rifle designed to take out armor rather than an infiltrator.
B: Real life paratroopers are often shot right out of the sky. Thats why they tend to drop at night and as stealthily as possible.
C: Overclocking has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that server/network latency exists and your game will never be in sync with the other players.
Makes sense, i still don't like it.
