If you disconnect or log-off during an alert, you'll lose the progress and if you disconnect or log-off when the timer runs off you won't be awarded anything even if you spent 1 hour playing the alert.
TL;DR: to gain prize play whole alert and be there when it ends. Otherwise, nope.
Priorities.
If you don't have 1.5 hours a day to spend doing what you like, you should perhaps reconsider your life choices.
you can see what alerts are going on on what server and when they started.
You can also see alert history by server which i use to predict the next alert. After an alert ends another wont appear for at least 4 hours so i check the site on 30 minute intervals after that amount of time has passed.
The more you stay the more certs and iso you get and if you stay for more than an hour and win you get an extra bonus in the form of certs, cosmetics, or boosts.
Some specific awards may require longer times than 1 hour though such as a rare weapon drop which supposedly require you to stay for 90% of an alert
