is this still a pay to win disaster?

I´ve played this game in the pre alpha or beta era. back then one could actually buy new and better items with the ingame cash generated by killing people and the like. from a certain point one could hardly get new coins just by playing and had to buy them with real money. is it still like this or has that changed a bit?

tbf it never really was the starter weapons are all very good. You also now get 100 certs for every level you make, not just the first 15. And tbh what you considered P2W is not really P2W if the guns you can unlock are all having similar TTK compared to those you get from start.

since i play, it was never a p2w. You can get everything playing. If you try to get weapons paying, the price its so expensive, so directly, is not worth pay to get extra equipment

You can still buy all the guns in the game if you want to. But if you don't know how to get the best (or any) use out of them then you just end up another person complaining how you "got this new weapon and it's crap".

People love using the word "Sidegrade" in this game for a reason. The closest you get to "best weapons" in this game are the defaults. All the others do something well at the cost of doing something else worse.

As for being forced to get new stuff? No. The rate at which you get certs has massively improved since the game first came out. Not that people don't still complain it's too slow, but that will never change.

There's no P2W. The closest you get is Pay To Grind A Bit Less and even then there's ways to work past it that don't require you to give a penny.

im the 6 years i play this game it was never Pay to Win.. it was Pay to Honk and Pay to Shine.. but never have i encountered anyone who was plain better than i was because he payed for a Fancy Weapon i spend Certs for.

the game is at the moment still Pay to Shine and Pay to NSO but there is no significant difference... i die as NSO and in my Shiny Armor to the very same Guys i died before.


But now i look awesome when i die.

yeah those bad f2p games have left a stain on the f2p market now there's this lingering stigma surrounding the model much like the battle royal genre

nope... though.. what can you do with 1500 certs (15 BRs until the normal Cert grind starts) anyway?

Like all "free to play" games, you can cheat with no consequences.
Banned? No problem, just create a new account. Pay-for-hacks will even insure your account (b/c why not? you're paying for the cheats, not the game)

Pay for a game subscription and you'll be free and clear from any admin scrutiny = added benefit.

All those big names / outfits? Take a guess which side they're on. Then ask how much money they've thrown into PS2.

don't play with them and don't follow their assumed rules...

Starting weapons have always been perfectly capable of killing. I've NEVER had any issue whatsoever with being effective with any of the starting weapons.

Weapon unlocks for the most part are SIDEgrades not UPgrades.
