No cheat detection?
Now I know that some of you are going to say "get good" but thats not what I am getting at. What I want to point out is those players who have BR100 but an achievment score of less than 500.What gives it away more is the monthly statistics (like getting a super high K/D with a higher than above average headshot ratio with an LMG from >100+ meters) What does surprise me is that this game has no cheat detection (unless you wallhack way under a spawn point and kill a bunch of people point blank), when it is painfully obvious somebody is cheating, the person who does cheat wants to brag about how they are "better" than you.

I used to cheat in games a long time ago, I even did it in this one. But enough time has passed for me to believe that there were countermeasures put into place to avoid such happenings. but after all the time has passed, I guess not.

As a suggestion, I am going to say that implementing an AI to do cheat detection through statistics analysis wouldn't be such a bad idea. There are some instances where people are legitimately good (and it would be disputable), but those kind of people are far and few in number.

There is the BattlEye anticheat system. You can see it booting alongside your Planetside 2 game files in your task manager. It's not great, but it seems to keep the cheapo hacks out mostly.
Aside from that there are the occasional admins who'll ban players when they are reported often enough and with sufficient evidence.

Also people who got banned aren't announced anymore ingame. Announcements happened a few years ago though.

Regarding Heavy Assaults: Some players are cheesetards who like to play the probably easiest way (aside from HESH shelling *cough*) with the T9, Orion, Beetlegeuse, Watchman, whatever shortrange LMG have you, on a 24/7 basis. Seen these high level people myself now often enough with around 500 achievement points too. No hacks just the easiest dueling class ingame, coupled with strong guns, additional shielding and atleast mediocre aim = ludicrously strong. Often these people don't seem to care for achievements.

MY TIP: Grab a shortrange bolt-action like the SAS-R, TSAR-42 or Ghost, git gud with it + low mouse and ingame DPI settings and shoot 'em in the face.

Thanks for being reasonable and stopping that. Scripters are destroying every legitimate players game, period.

This already happened a few years ago and failed horribly. The system banned legitimate players left and right and people made accounts for fun, reached extraordinary legitimate KD/Rs and scores and got banned, just to show that the system was horrendously flawed.

wish I could +rep you. Thanks for the response, that answers a lot of questions. Also thanks for the videos. One would think that the cheat detection bot was tested before being deployed, but owell I guess. It also sucks that cheaters get handled through customer service and that it takes a while. But it makes sense why we as players can't be communicating with developers (hackers ruining the fun for everybody it seems).

About the directive the score: one needs to do various things to improve it. If you only every play one clad and just kill people in an efficient manner, it's not going to ever rise after a first few completed directives.

Testing stuff with Planetside has always been a problem with the game. SOE and Columbus Nova now have been putting a lot of pressure on the devs since day one. John Smedley the old and original producer since PlanetSide 1 (and Everquest and so much other mind boggling stuff back then) always made large and impressive games, but that came with a ton of pitfalls like planned but never realised features, haphazardly implemented patches, you name it.

Well old me would say that the ARMA 2 DayZ servers back in the day often had BattlEye and people would still easily outmaneuver it with scripts, hacks etc. Could be possible that the modern BattleEye is a notch better but even the 3 week wait time until somebody gets banned is shart at best. 3 weeks (If you're interested see the video from Cyrious: Why we can't have nice things) are easily enough to wreak havoc and annoy hundreds of people in a game already as confusing as PlanetSide 2 is for a new player.
Don't get me wrong I'm glad that there is a barrier for hackers and such but whoever's handing out the ban, be it BattlEye or DBG customer support, 3 weeks is just too long.

So TL;DR: More people for customer support + more ingame admins for faster bans of scripters => yet that won't happen because to much $$$ for no direct profit.

Want to know how peoploe get past battleye? Recursion and its ability to use AHK scripts that battleye would normally block... THATS HOW...

RTST does not allow you to do anything with AHK.
AHK scripts are allowed anyway, if they don't include mouse movement. And using them is a disadvantage in most cases anyway, they take away control from the player.

to my understanding, nowadays instead of individual bans being handed out as often as they used to be, they ban in waves, they log all the reported cheaters, investigate them as they log in and play then mark em for perma ban if they see the behavior of a cheater. then later that week or month you suddenly see a lot of people go missing.

but i havnt noticed cheating as prevalent anywhere else than connery, and its not usually a specific faction either, i play TR only on that server but if i had to guess who cheated more, it'd be VS. you can thank the no bullet drop and low recoil on their weapons for being the main choice of cheaters. its why i refuse to play the faction, not because i think they are OP but because they are hacker fodder on base principal of how their faction weapons work.
