Landing an ESF
Does anybody know how to land this thing without it violently bob up and down because the thrust is still going after you exit the plane?

All aircraft in this game are VTOL. So they all act more like helicopters, that can go really fast when they need to, than planes.

Just pull back on the decelerator (default "S") when coming in for a landing. Tilting the nose up can also help.
Even when you do land, the plane will bob for a second or so after you get out as the engines turn off. If the trust is still going enough that the plane takes off again when you get out then you want to let go of the accelerator (default "W") when your trying to stop moving.

That, or you somehow hit the boost when you did get out.

I bound the throttle key to S because it helps with doing the reverse manuvere. Does that do the same thing as deceleration? Sorry for the noob question, im still learning the flight mechanics in this game.

I find this type of thing happening alot w/ my Valk after I exit; though in my case it's due to lag after moving from Briggs to Connery. Worth checking your ping aswell!

Also make sure that you don't move your mouse around the time you press E to exit. If you do, the aircraft will continue to pull in that direction for about a second, which might be enough to turn it on its side.

I am actually having fun flying now since my ESF doesn't bounce anymore when I try to land. Aside from dog fighting, flying is actually relaxing for some reason in this game.

Space bar is ascend, C is descend. To land easily and safely use C.

Or install ejector seats and let the plane land itself. You can get some fantastic precision when dropping in on places like that.

....I'm also not kidding about the plane landing itself. I've seen mine land in places that I don't think I could have got it into without blowing it up.

That is useful. I also recommend Hader's guide here on Steam.
