Anyway don't expect any realism or common sense in this game. It uses its own mechanics to supposedly provide fair play. Go figure.
playing infatry is when i purposely want to make my time in planetside 2 a complete nightmare. i keep telling myself... "playing infantry will get better, you'll see" as i slowly forget and then quickly get reminded how terrible the infantry combat is in this game...
also another thing worth pointing out... is that max is fun to play and seems to suffer alot less from the rng accuracy non-sence and actually feels like i need to improve my aim on it.. and not the other way around like all the other infantry units.. but my favorite infantry costs 450 nanites.... which is annoying -.-
all and all i have to admit, sometimes it is my aim on those more close quarters encounters... but there should be no reasion to get screwed over by rng acuracy when your aim is spot on.. but then i forget... rngesus has to bless your aimed sprey and prey...
so basicly what im saying is that planetside 2 stats are meaningless if you get super unlucky when most of your encounters are at decent ranges a Riffle of anysort should be able to easily shoot someone from...
also most of my stats were screwed over by rng acuracy anyways... so they probably arnt even worth looking at anyways.. i mean i might have some decent stuff.. but you will probably end up seeing patato crap.
(on a side note if i could play this game with a controller it might sooth my hardships with dealing with rng crap... at least with infantry gameplay... everything else is fun with mouse and keyboard cause there is little to no rng involved with the aim and acuracy of the other stuff i have fun with
Basicly im saying, i dont want to move to the ps4 version cause that one is swamped with children with loud mics, and cause i have all my progression on this one and cause controlers feel more comfertable using in intence situations and alot less specificly precision based and more "just do it" type game play... while on the other hand i like using the keyboard and mouse for vehicles and more precise non-infantry, "push it and hold it and base it" type game play...)
Still not knowing what guns you are trying to use isn't helping but I'll try.
First figure out your gun's recoil pattern. Some guns, (like most the NS weapons) have a very predictable up and left pattern. Some guns, like the Lasher and the most of the TR LMG's for example are all over the damn place. Forward grips will help with unpredictable horizontal recoil, and from there it is just a matter of figuring out how hard you need to pull down on the mouse to stay on target.
Next figure out how much your gun is going to bloom, and how quickly. Once you have that figured out start trying to burst your weapon. This lets the COF reset, which will increase your accuracy.
Spray and pray is generally a bad idea unless you are in knifefight range anyhow.
Ok, now we're talking. I say this as someone who spends 95% of my time as the poor bloody infantry, and have most my hours sunk into TR.
Burst discipline with TR weapons is practically a must. The fire rates cause major bloom issues. I'd suggest going to VR training. Get a feel for how quickly each weapons cone of fire expands and how long it takes for the COF to reset. The Cycler for example takes about 6 bullets before the COF is maxed so after shooting that many, let off the trigger for a fraction of a second and then shoot again. Same holds true for the Trac 5, though this is one of the few cases where the Jaguar is a straight up better weapon than the starter gun. Some weapons like the CARV rely on their bloom to be effective though. You can lock down a door pretty effectively just holding down the LMB and moving your reticle over anyone dumb enough to stick their head through. Can't really comment on the sniper rifles since I just plain don't play as an infil.
The "RNG" in planetside weapons is consistent with other FPS. If you hold down your trigger, your bullets start flying anywere. It's called recoil and bloom. Each FPS has it. Planetside is no different.
And like in any other FPS out there you need to learn how to handle the weapon properly aka how to BURST FIRE.
If you hold down the trigger and spray at an enemy at 30m, yeah, good luck hitting him. Fire in smal 3-4 bullets bursts, let the bloom settle for a split second, then fire again. And learn your weapon recoil, every weapon has a different one, some kick up-right, some up-left, some just up. Learn how to compensate with your mouse. God, weapon recoil in most FPS is absurdely high you have to limit your bursts to 1-2 bullets and you have to stand still while doing it (ever played CS:GO?).
If you stop blaming the "RNG" and start firing your gun properly, you'll see you'll hit right where you are aiming. Then, if your aim is crap, you are out of luck.

But seriously, I'm only private so my geographic region doesn't ruin the conspiracy theory of someone on this forum.
Lag wizards and haxxorz? :p #everyonebutme
Bloom is the expansion of your weapon's Cone of Fire, and increases rapidly during prolonged bursts/mag dumps.
To fix this, burst. But don't CoD-style burst with a "bambambam WAIT bambambam", just stop firing for ~.1 or .2 seconds. It makes all the difference in the world.
