Game Error G25
UPDATE:
Issue has been fixed.... I feel very stupid now lol.

So, I just had a gaming PC built for me and received it on Monday. It is an Intel Core i7-8700K 3.70GHz 6 cores, 32GB RAM, and a Geforce GTX 1070 8GB video card. As far as I know, my computer shouldn't be having any trouble at all running this game. The Sims 4 didn't recognize the video card either but still plays(very choppy however). Yet, I am able to play PUBG on Ultra settings with no issues whatsoever.

Help would be greatly appreciated =)

is the Sims 4 played online requiring an internet connection? Somehow I think it might require that as well.

Ok, if you do a search for the error you describe, it is most often linked to either not having your video card or video card driver recognized by the game OR you have the game on ULTRA graphics and with PS2 that is almost unplayable on every single Graphics Card that exists.

Now, I think the 1070 is a bit more powerful than my 750 Ti, and I can play the game well at Low and Medium graphics. I also prefer it at those settings compared to higher settings which actually cause distractions and lower your FPS. You have more than enough CPU, more than enough RAM, more than enough VRAM -- about twice my RAM and VRAM so that's not an issue either.

So I'm going to mention a few things to consider:

1) Since you did not build the computer yourself, it is possible that the Video Card drivers need updating. It is not uncommon for the builder to either use the drivers on the cd that came with the video card, so you just update it to the newest non-BETA driver for the correct OS version and you may see it work right.

2) Sometimes a game will not recognize the card and will try to work off the integrated graphics chip. Many Intel Motherboards have such an integrated chip. This might be handled by new drivers, by adding a setting to the game, or by going into your BIOS. Since you have never probably fooled with the BIOS before, let's hold off on trying that for now.

3) If you can, you want to start Planetside 2 with lowered settings. ULTRA may be the default, if it is, you may not be able to enter the game. If you can't enter the game, you may want to access the .ini file for the settings and then lower them which may allow you to run the game.

4) In general , it is not recommended to download the Planetside 2 from Steam and then have a major update again when you try to access the Planetside Servers. You are better off downloading it directly from DayBreak instead.

5) Likewise, not a great idea to run it thru Steam. Why add more load potentially to your computer, Planetside demands a lot from both your CPU and GPU.

6) If you try to run it off the built in Intel GPU integrated into the motherboard, because it doesn't recognize your new 1070, you are going to have a very unsatisfactory experience -- it will display probably, mine did, but it isn't going to make you at all competitive as the CPU and the GPU will bog down to unplayably slow frames per second whenever you get into even a medium sized battle, even at other times.

7) Check for some info on how to set-up the game on Iridar.net. You can also find a good one in the various videos on YouTube by CyriousGaming. Wrel has many videos, as does the standard link off the launcher or off of Planetside2.com

8) If the game is pushing a major update right now, you may also get this error on occasion, per web posts, because the launcher will not fully complete the update download. So it may cure itself by tomorrow all on its own. Maybe, unlikely though.

If you can browse those sites, you'll get enough info. You can also try searching the Steam forums here for Planetside 2.

Bottom line, you should have enough CPU and GPU to play the game comfortably. The only unknown is your connection being quick and reliable enough for the online data. The current issue is probably a video driver, video card recognition, or game video settings issue. Don't feel hopeless, it should be fixable, like 95% chance.

However, the one bothersome thing is that you said the Sims 4 didn't recognize the card either. Now the Sims 4 is a bit old, but I'm surprised at that. The suggests either that you really don't have any video driver for the 1070 installed and are just working off the default SVGA driver, or that the integrated GPU is getting used instead. AKA a video card recognition problem. No guarantees, but possible.

So you really want to update those drivers for your -- I'm presuming -- it is an Nvidia GTX 1070. If that doesn't work, this fix might get a bit complicated, but any person who has ever built a computer himself could fix that for you. You can also work with Nvidia support, and so on -- I hope you have all the info about that video card handy, just in case as well.

EDIT IN:

Last thing to mention in the overview just in case. It is said that PS2 runs mainly off DirectX 9.0c . Now if that is true, it is very commonly found that any Windows 8 or later install like Windows 10, does not have Direct X 9.0 installed. So potentially you may have to install DirectX 9.0c from Microsoft, it is free, in order to get it to run correctly. I'm not sure on that, but I've heard it said. The theory is a good one, but I think PS2 does run off of later Direct X's as well. Otherwise, older games are not usually compatible with the later Direct X's. This might pertain even to a game released 2 years ago or so. It won't break anything to install it, it doesn't override the newer Direct X's . But it provides all backward compatiblity from Direct X 9 all the way back in time. Direct X 10 and later do not. So you see it can be valuable. The games will know how to find the right Direct X if installed correctly, which is usually a default automatic thing you don't have to worry about. Steam in addition tends to add the Direct X in the folder of each game's executable that it needs -- USUALLY -- sometimes this borks out. The concept is that if the correct version is in the game's executables folder, it will take precedent. Think of it as a local search in the folder done for the correct resource it needs before it looks outside to the rest of the computer for it.

Now I'm not going to go into more detail. Others may. This are meant to be overview points. Do them in the easiest order first, I did not exactly order them that way, however.

This is extremely helpful, thank you so much! I have dabbled in the BIOS on previous occasions so I may check that out. The driver was the first thing I though of as well so I went to update it and it's up to date as well as I installed another drive directly from the GeForce Experience app. I also checked for DirectX and I am running DirectX v 12.

Your comment has definitely given me hope so I'm going to keep at it! What confuses me with the Sims is that I have an i5 laptop for school and it runs it perfectly. Granted, I don't have the best internet in my room. Prior to getting this computer I was only running at ~50Mbps, now with the network card I got it runs from 140-175Mbps. I can try connecting to my phones hotspot which puts out anywhere from 400-700Mbps. But also, PUBG runs flawlessly. It's so frustrating lol. I truly appreciate your comment, it was more than I was expecting!! Thank you!

Silly question here but did you plug your monitor into the motherboard and not the graphics card. If you did it would be running off your IGPU instead of a 1070
Your system is more than enough as I have a 1070 and 7600k and I run the game everything ultra except for shadows and get 80+ fps at all times

Go to device manager and make sure that all drivers are set up correctly too.

It seems like the internet in your room is awfully slow mabye consider running a eithernet up there?

Try manually installing direct x 9 too.

Yeah, so... not a silly question at all lmao. That is indeed what I did!!! I haven't had a desktop pc since the lovely tubed monitors lol. I feel so incredibly stupid!!! I emailed tech support and they asked the same question!

For the internet.. Yeah I wish I could run an ethernet up here. Our router is downstairs in our den and my room is on the other side of the house upstairs. I keep trying to find a good wifi extender but I've been unsuccessful.
