Infantry vs Vehicle tips?
Hi there, I am actually pretty new to planetside 2, tried it a long time ago, forgot about it, picked up again recently.

Anyways, i just need to know which guns that infantry have that can be useful against vehicles? Most i know is that basic rpg for heavy assault, (maybe) anti-material rifle for engineer, and also sticking c-4 onto infiltrators seem to work.

Just asking as i do not know which guns deal most damage to vehicles as i am still learning.

Also, i mostly play as the red team, just to clarify.

C4 is best if your goal is to actually kill something. It can be stuck to a flash or you can use a vehicle, cliff, or jump pad as a light assault. Mines can also work.

Rocket launchers can be good for deterring vehicles, as well as finishing them off or helping a teammate. Heavy's a good class so you don't really sacrifice anything by playing it.

The archer got buffed so it might be decent against vehicles now, but you lose your primary so I wouldn't take it in most situations. AV mana turrets got nerfed, I think they're pretty weak now.

As of the latest patch, infantry rocket launchers are pretty strong against vehicles, but the poster above me is right that C4 is your best bet. Basically nothing survives C4.

Most tactics to fight vehicles using infantry rely on many closely coordinated people using a cheesy strategy such as Archers, which are fairly weak by themselves but valuable when you have ten of them working together.

One brick of c4 will kill anything smalelr than a harasser. 2 bricks will kill a Lightning, wont kill a heavy tank unless stuck to the back of it, and won't instakill a sundy but will set it on fire

As said in the previous answers, C4 is likely the most efficient tool in terms of Anti Vehicule raw DPS, however it obviously lacks range.
It is quite efficient against vehicules that arent aware of your presence, but trying to C4 frontally a tank is not the best idea usually, since they can OHK you.

Small arms (guns, pistols) don't deal any damage to Heavy Armored Vehicules (MBTs, Lightnings, Sunderers, etc) but damage Harassers and flashes a bit, however not enough to be significant
However, the S-Variants (Cart 5-S if you're TR ) of every Carbine can carry an under barrel grenade launcher that can deal a lot of damage to vehicules, but has a LOT of drop

There are different Lodaout that can maximize AV damage for each class tho :

Infiltrator : No possibility to damage Vehicules except for the EMP grenade that can disable the shield of a Shielded Sunderer. Also EMP grenades will detonate all the enemy deployables (C4 and Mines) so if an enemy tank is on enemy mines you can make him explode with that

Light Assault : Access to the Rocket rifle that does quite a bit of damage to vehicules, and with the drifter suit + C4 you can drop C4 on tanks by drifting from a tower for example (careful, doing so will expose you a lot to infantery fire)
The Rocket rifle has access to explosive rockets that will up its AV damage a lot, but ammo drops a lot and is much slower.

Medic : Double C4 is a usual loadout and can take care of basically anything at close range, not much more however

Heavy : Access to the RPG, the base one is usually quite efficient, although some people prefer the NS Decimator that deals a bit more damage but has slightly longer relod time.
If you want to hit targets far away ,there are some "lockers" that lock a target after a few seconds but has lower damage output.
The Heavy assault also can carry an anti vehicule grenade that can stick to vehicules (or MAXes) and deals a decent amout of damage

Engineer: A lot of AV possibilities here:
-The Anti Material Rifle (NS Archer) decent damage and has amazing Range, however it'll take way too long to down anything. Quite efficient as a dissuasion weapon tho
- Mine carrier pouch : Allows you to take more C4 or Tank Mines with you
-C4 : Same as all classes : super high Damage output, but no range.
-Tank Mines : Deployables you can put on the ground and deal a LOT of damage to vehicules, great to protect a road where you guess ennemy Armor will go soon
Remark : Dont put mines close (<1m) to a friendly sunderer, since their explosion will damage it
Remark 2 : When you put up a sunderer, you can switch to engineer with mines, put some on a road where an enemey tank might go to destroy your sundy, then switch back to whatever class you want to play for the incoming fight, your mines will stay on the road.
-Synergy with ammo pack and S-Variants : With the class ability of the engineer, you can "endlessly" spam underbarrel grenades :D

MAX : MAXes are a waste of 450 Nanites >:(

Strictly speaking there is the Hunter crossbow with explosive bolts which does do a bit of damage to heavy armor.

Also the latest patch made of the vanu pistols (Spiker) now can damage armor when charged.

Agree with all of this except for the part on MAXs as they do have a very good use. The max is best suited for digging in and keeping enemy vehicles at bay. They are quite vulnerable in 1v1 situations vs most vehicles and aren’t worth taking anywhere outside of heavy ally support. However if you can dig in with your team behind you anduve the long range AV weaponry you can get some work done. The max has some decent long range AV (especially ravens) and they don’t need to lock on. A lot of clever tank drivers are quite good at using trees and other objects to ditch lockons. If the maxes are placed on high ground where it is harder to hit them they can be almost impossible to displace. The niche of the max is to dig in with ample team support and act like a heavy assault+. They suck when taken outside that role though due to their slow speed.
