Flank, always. You don't have to go far out of your way, keep friendlies near enough to cover you, but attack from a different position than everyone else. Whenever you die, check the map screen for alternative spawns and to see how the battle is flowing. Also check your minimap constantly, during reloads, when you hear something, or anytime you have a second. Watch Wrel's video on wallclimbing if you aren't familiar with it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7CCpQ4h5sGA
Cutebeaver also has some great parkour examples.
Be aggressive, if you don't know how lag compensation works watch Wrel's video.

Make sure you know how and when to burst. If you don't know the cone of fire mechanics, or any other mechanics, check out Iridar's site.[iridar.net]

Renzor has several videos on how to become a better player, I recommend them.
If you want better responses and discussions in general you can post at https://www.reddit.com/r/Planetside/
Reducing your sensitivity is also very beneficial. While it may feel strange at first, having lower sensitivity will actually give you more control. Of course, this is my experience. I didnt start getting good at Planetside until my 2nd year of playing. I got good at the advice of other players who were much better than me.
Be more social in chat. The more times that people see you, the more you'll get recognized. That'll give you opportunities for people to want to squad up with you.
Im sorry if the explanation was confusing like I said there are a few vidoes on youtube explaining it if you want to look into it further.
If you're confident in your aim, I would work on positioning. Move in a way so that you're always near cover, and never engage without it. When you decide to engage, limit your exposure so that you're fighting as few players as possible, preferably 1v1. This isn't always possible, but make a conscious effort to do this.
You'd be surprised how good your aim can get when you force them to react to you versus the other way around.
Always be moving or looking or doing something that isn't sitting out in the middle of a road, field, desert, whatever, and be standing still. Fire in bursts unless you are a gunner or a MAX and reload whenever you can.
Call enemies out whenever you see them, you'll get a sighting bonus.
Pay attention to the guns actual range. i.e., a shotgun is pretty much always going to suck at any distance. I've found that what feels good to shoot at whatever range you are going for seems to work better
If you notice what you think is a cloaker, always take a shot, it usually gets them to break cloak more.
Good luck
All that.
Also don't expect to be any good in ESF's. There's just too many good pilots already.
I recommend uploading unedited gameplay, not highlights, unless you have specific questions about an encounter.
What does it look like to you. I nailed him pretty good and look at his health still. Its always happening and im like wtf, you should be dead
