What are you looking for? Default is good for range and low horizontal recoil. GD-22S has nice low recoil and is cheap. Anchor is similar to the GD but for closer range, it has better RPM and access to SPA and ALS at the cost of some recoil and reload speed. NS-15M is my preferred general purpose weapon because I can use it on my alts and it has low recoil as well as that nice .75 ADS multiplier.

Edit: For super close range such as inside towers, possibly either NC SMG or the Jackhammer. Haven't used them since the nerfs but LMGs aren't great for hipfiring.

Im looking for LMGs at a CQC aspect I have acouple like the NC6 gauss but it seems to get outpreformed by every other heavy in CQC.

Alright. Depends on what you call close quarters and your playstyle. If you're talking about indoor combat an SMG or Shotgun can work well. Either NC SMG is fine, most players seem to prefer the Cyclone though. Jackhammer would be my go-to shotgun for Heavy, though I haven't used it since the changes. Mauler should work fine if you're on a budget. I'm not a huge fan of CQC specialized weapons now that I can aim, but when I was new I loved them.

If you're able to score headshots at closer ranges, the SAW or really any low recoil weapon can work well while still allowing you to engage over long range.

If you don't want something as specialized as an SMG or Shotgun I'd take an Anchor probably. ALS or Grip I'm not sure about, but the SPA is nice. Actually I'd still take my NS-15M because it's versatile enough and I'm trying to get better with a single gun, muscle memory and all that. But if I was looking for a new gun I'd look at the Anchor. Haven't used the EM1 myself but I haven't heard much good about it. If you're low on certs the GD-22S is very similar to the Anchor, but then you're going back into the low recoil & low DPS style, requiring headshots to be competitive.

In CQC you want the Anchor or the NS15m. Shotguns will get you kills but wont help to improve your aim much, i dont reccomend using them (You do have to aurax the jackhammer for the heavy armour though so if you buy one get that).

Try the gd-22s with laser sight and just hip fire and strafe at close range. At the ranges you seem to be going for (0-10) meters its your cheapest option. Hip fire avoids the movement penalties of aiming down sights.

If you have the 1000 + certs get the Anchor instead for the spa option.

The closest thing the NC has to a close range lmg is the EM1 with it's 659 rpm and max damage of 143 out to 25 meters when equiped with spa.

Also try these in VR and trial in game before you purchase.

EM1 for me. Good rate of fire, pretty decent accuracy, versatile range, quick reload speed. Just a good all around weapon.

Agreed it has good bullet velocity and low recoil but it takes some time to used to its TTK after using the 167 dmg per bullet guns.

The default saw is fairly the best lmg, versatile and powerful (imho)

Stick with the saw. It is ridiculously good.
Learn the Saw, then get a Jackhammer for fun. :) That thing is a beast and the SAW will actually teach you a few things about aiming and burst fire and all that which will carry over to the other ones once you decide to start auraxiuming others.... Compensator and Forward Grip are good purchases for the SAW and you might want to get a 2X reflex site or even a 3.4 X site just because it can reach out and touch people at greater ranges but the 2X will be less obtrusive for CQC. Thing is you have to AIM WELL with the SAW. If you put rounds on people up close you'll wreck them and if you hit them in the head you'll get them in a single burst.

So my suggestion is to learn the SAW and become a head hunter then push it out for longer range engagements and learn that then when you auraxium it start working on the other LMGs. Anchor is good EM anything is good but once you're mastered the SAW you'll be fine with any of them.
OK a different discussion entierly is which WEAPON is awesome at CQC, and undoubtedly it's the Jackhammer... Jackhammer is love Jackhammer is life, Jackhammer kills infantry, Jackhammer kills MAX units and heck Jackhammer kills light vehicles if you hit them when they're low on health. There is nothing more satisfying than Unloading your bursts from the Jackhammer on a quickly approaching Harasser that's smoking and seeing after getting run over by their rubble that you got the driver the gunner and their pocket engineer. If you get revived it's a bonus. :) That gun is amazing and I absolutely fell in love with it after purchasing it and it's still good even after the changes. Get it learn it and love it.... But if you want to be more adaptable you'll get good with the LMGs however if you want to crutch on a CQC weapon till you do get good with the LMGs the Jackhammer is a good one to do so with. It's a heck of a lot of fun.

Never had much luck with the jack hammer on burst. I've had better luck using it on semi auto and better luck still just using the piston.

Jackhammer is one of the best cqc weapons in the game. Its a crutch for NC players. If you start using it, try not to rely on it too much, it ruins your tactics with other weapons if you get too used to it.
