I was happy to get this gun since a lot of people in game and on YouTube say it's a great weapon but I always fail to go up against other heavys with this weapon. Not sure if it's my kids but I truely don't know how to use this weapon.

its a very accurate and controllable gun, therefore it reliably hits the head when aimed there.

So you need to be a very accurate shot yourself to make the gun perform, otherwise you will get outgunned by weapons with more damage/ faster RoF.

To be honest, for the average player, its not the best weapon in the world, many other faction specific weapons will be better for you if you arent hugely accurate as they make up for missed shots with damage or RoF.

Which guns out DPS the NS-15?
All of them. Carv(S), MSW, and TMG by a larger margin, Rhino/Bull by a slight one.

OK, for the TR you started with one of the better LMGs in the game. It's not the close range power house that the MSW or the Orion is but it can get the job done and push it's capabilities out further than those guns quite easily however it's not going to push out as well as other LMGs. Basically it's an all around good gun but it out performs the NS15 M in ROF and so forth so for RAW damage it's better. Also you can learn the game with it and it'll make you better at using weaposn like the NS15 M.
