It's possible to use one, but there is no aim assist and you will be stomped in infantry combat.
If that's a deal breaker check out the PS4 version.

im not into playing games at 20fps. is controller support official or do i need some 3rd party stuff?

It has native support, but as pointed out the PC version doesn't have aim assist so even newbies are gonna roflstomp you.

Also, the PS4 version runs pretty well as far as I've heard.

yea it sucks, frustrating to because they have full controller support for the ps4. So why cant they just use the same controller scheme on this version..?
