Doesn't look so hot. Better to trial it in game if your still considering it.
Have you finished upgrading your characters suit slots and abilities yet? If not then this is what you should do before you consider purchasing new weapons.
Then again, I've got about 1% time on my medic, so I may be biased here, spoiled by my favorite RAMS and Lynx.
Even if I wanted to somehow be in the rear guard (not a lot of healing / reviving to do there though) I'd hate to have a weapon with a delay built in.
I can tell you that the Yumi has been the most painful experience in 20+ years of PC gaming.
That crap is utter trash. I've counted every single kill I got and sighted with relief thinking it was one kill less for the aurax.
Seriously, a gun that DOES NOT SHOOT when you want to shoot. What kind of sick mind devised it?
If I could erase it from the inventory after the 1160 kills I would.
On a more serious note: this gun has a VERY specific sweet spot which is target in the 20ish meter range, where you can land all 5 shots into the head. Which is extremely hard since well, THE WEAPON DONT SHOOT WHEN YOU WANT TO SHOOT.
With actual, living and breathing humans moving around shooting back at you, the only way you are gonna be able to use this gun is by camping a spot and hoping the enemies won't notice you for long enough for you to steal some kills.
Under 20m range, you'll be outskilled and outdpsed by people who can actually track you head or hip-fire (don't even try to hip-fire with this trash, just ... don't), out of the 20m range the mandatory 5 bursts will mean you won't be able to manage your bursts effectively (and at longer ranges you fire in small 2-3 micro bursts or taps so that you can actually hit the targed and the head).
On top of it, well, you'll have to count for the weapon firing delay.
Seriously, there's nothing this weapon does well enough for you to want it over ANY other AR in game. Jesus, even going out with Candy Cannon gives you more chances.
I recieve constant /tell and /yell message of solidarity from friendlies and enemies alike tying to support me in the aurax endeavour or trying to cheer me up after I got dunked because this weapon is trash. I even lost a 1v1 duel with a crossbow infiltrator once.
I'm thinking I'm gonna start a support group for people with Yumi PTSD.
This thing is bad. Stay clear. Save you certs.
Auraxing it should give a separate medal on its own.
As any weapon, you can make it work. You just adapt to the playstyle. The problem with the Yumi is that virtually any other weapon in game can do the same things and better.
If you had an NS11 instead of Yumi, you'd be doing better in the same situation while still being able to use the gun for CQC and for longer ranges.
Yumi works at a VERY specific range. It does ONE thing, and it does it poorly. Othe guns might do the same thing poorly as well, but they can do OTHER things (CQC, range).
So, in the end, there is absolutely no reason to use the Yumi over any other gun unless you are farming for that Samurai helmet.
I find that NS-11 doesn't have the nonexistent horizontal recoil of the Yumi. It is seriously accurate when you've put a compensator on it. Even without, all you have to do to land every shot is drag down on the mouse. I'm pretty sure Yumi is the most accurate AR, at least for TR and NC. I haven't looked at the stats, though, I'm just going off of personal experience, so nobody crucify me if I'm wrong, just show me the stats.
OK, looked at the stats, it is the most horizontally accurate AR available to TR.
Answered you extensively in the other thread ;)
