I did finish all stages before and when I talk to the cat in the plague room he says transform the mice into cats. It stops there.

On the table in the room with mice you'll find Bastet's Crystal. Use it in the hidden room in Ancient Egypt - place it above Bastet's head. She will give you a transforming potion in return. Afterwards the mice become clickable and change into cats upon clicking on them.
