The other Shiren games
I know that porting a game on PC isn't an easy task but would it be possible to have other games there?

There are around 9 games (counting the Asuka spin-off on the Dreamcast) and the "modern" ones (that can be more likely got get ported) are the Dual Screen, Wii and PSP ones (such as Shiren 1 remake, Shiren GB2 remake aka DS2, Shiren 4 and 4+ and Shiren 3).

Shiren 2, Asuka and GB are the two in need of an actual remake.

The full list of the series by the way:

  • Mystery Dungeon 2: Shiren the Wanderer 1995 SNES
  • BS Shiren the Wanderer: Save Surala 1996 Satellaview
  • Shiren the Wanderer GB: Monster of Moonlight Village 1996 GameBoy
  • Shiren the Wanderer 2: Shiren's Castle and the Oni Invasion 2000 Nintendo 64
  • Shiren the Wanderer GB2: Magic Castle of the Desert 2001 GameBoy Color
  • Shiren the Wanderer Gaiden: Asuka the Swordswoman 2002 DreamCast
  • Shiren the Wanderer (remake) 2008 on the DS
  • Shiren the Wanderer 4: The Eye of God and the Devil's Navel 2010 DS and PSP (for the + version)
  • Shiren the Wanderer 5: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate 2010 DS PS Vita Switch and PC
  • Shiren the Wanderer 6: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island 2024 Switch and PC

There are two true spin-offs such as Shiren Monsters: Netsal on the GBA in 2004 and Shiren the Wanderer: Princess Suzune and the Tower of Slumber as a Pachinko in 2013.

I know that it exists but honestly this one isn't the focus I'd give.

If I wanted a spinoff I'd rather have the one with Asuka.

Shiren the Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and The Dice of Fate is on steep discount right now. I really enjoyed it (on another platform), so maybe give it a shot.

Shiren the Wanderer Gaiden: Asuka the Swordswoman also had a PC release as well with extended online aspects...although by the time I found out about it, I think all of the servers were long ago shut down. It had a lot of neat post story side dungeons with gimmicks I have yet to see any of the more recent Shire iterations copy.

It's interesting how some DC games got Windows ports.

Shame about that.

I think, porting Wii version of Shiren 3 next would make the most sense, as it still looks good and is already translated to English.

An upscaled remaster would be nice (since sadly the Wii wasn't HD and it may hurt a bit to see on a 1080p - 2K screen).

I wouldn’t mind seeing the original. The DS enhancement is excellent, and apparently it also got ported to mobile only in Japan. I’d love to get that version on PC.

I forgot that it got a mobile phone port.

Weren't there Java phone spinoffs or ports?

I used to know someone that desperately wanted to collect that pachinko machine. I remember them coming to the harsh realization that owning and operating a pachinko machine inside your home is a huge PITA.

PITA? It's the name of a meal for me.

But Pachinslots and Pachinkos are really annoying when they're original games/stories... It's legit gambling.

PITA is shorthand for Pain In The Ass.

Also yeah you need to load the ball bearings yourself if you don’t have some kind of auto reload system. And all those little metal balls are heavy.

At that point I'd rather run the game in a computer.

They’re talking about Shiren 1 (DS), Shiren 3 (Wii), and Shiren 5 (PSP Vita).

What PC remakes are you referring to?
