Black screen

I started the game for the first time and I have the sound but the screen is black, any advice thank you

You can add me to the list too. Very frustrating indeed. Would really appreciate it if the devs could jump on here to advise what their plan of attack is to fix this issue, or if they even intend to fix it for those who have spent money on a game that's still available, even when there are known faults....like not being able to see anything past main menu.

I just placed a refund on this one. This is intorerable.

First you need to download the trial version of the game from domini games or big fish games website. Then you need to copy the files from the trial version to the steam folder. But in the case of "Gloomy Tales" it is not enough, so after that you need to set the compatibility mode to windows 95/98. Sometimes it works when it comes to domini games. Saves work both ways, so if you encounter a bug you can bypass it in the trial version and the save will be created automatically in the steam version as well.

Thank you very much, sadly, this worked only for the first chapter/trial, the rest of the game is black screen again :(

It happened to me too, like never before. Maybe because all the files were copied? Before, when I had problems with the games from DG, I copied only a few files, not all of them, and everything worked fine. This game is cursed, I swear... 😂

I tried copying just some, and all of them. Didn't work, so yeah, cursed.
It's so bad, that despite having some games I want on sale right now, I won't purchase anymore, because they denied my refund.
