Hello Everyone,


I have a few things I would like to say relating to Fall Into Insanity. The news on the game has been very dry since the playtest over a year ago. Well a few things have happened, the first one was the game was internally postponed for reasons I can’t really get into, resulting in lack of updates and news. Today I can say that Fall Into Insanity is in active development once again, although scaled back due to the original idea being overly ambitious.


How Will The New Version Compare?

Well the new version of Fall Into Insanity will not feature multiplayer and will be scaled back in terms of story. While the original was primary a story based game, the idea of multiplayer was making it far too ambitious and unsustainable as the ideas kept pilling on. The main story of the original draft got changed several times, for example Croymar Woods, the level you played in the playtest has been completely scrapped. There was ideas for the story involve 5 mini bosses, for example these being the Butcher and Eve along with other characters i didn’t announce. The game would ultimately come down to the main boss who I will not spoil as they will play a huge part in the new story.

Now the new story is still in progress but it’s not going to be ambitious in terms of features and AAA quality cutscenes. The game itself will push the boundaries as much as one solo dev can do but the gameplay is leaning towards more puzzle like gameplay inspired by many fantastic horror games out there. I am taking great efforts in trying to write and develop a fantastic indie horror game that will satisfy horror fans out there, I’ll be working with more streamers going forward to continue getting feedback and will most likely do another playtest in the future to test out the game again.


What Engine is Fall Into Insanity Using?

The game is running on Unreal Engine 5.4, this allows me to push the graphics as much as possible as well as using the new animation technology called Motion Matching which is a powerful tool to make animations smoother and easier to develop as it eliminates having to use state machines to store various animations. With Motion Matching, you load all the animations onto a database and the database decides which animation is best to use for that action. The more animations you add to the database, the better.
