Oh the 1 is better than the sequel ?
After reading the reviews of the sequel I disliked (too much clunky and buggy [the demo]) I saw that people prefered the 1. I just tried the demo and the 1 is indeed better. I had 0 bugs and it seem to be the exact same game, minus the equipment we can give to vendors ? And it's like diablo 1, a single but big dungeon ? I will probably buy it during the next -75% reduction. It's old school but very functionnal. I loved my Archer/Shaman character crit bow and in the future with a heal.

Ya, the only thing I miss in Din's Curse is the interface improvements, I really wish it could get the updated game engine.

I don't get your code words. I don't know what "Oh the 1" is. If you're talking about this game here, I'm not finding that it's unbalanced. I was semi used to the mechanics already, from coming in after playing Depths of Peril.

There are a great many things you can do to tweak the difficulty. I played everything at normal and standard, and haven't had any issues. Granted, I've only played about 4 1/2 hours, but that's well over twice what you could have, since you refunded the game.

You're not *meant* to save every town. The game is meant to be lost sometimes, and yet you keep going and do a new game with that same character, just like Depths of Peril.

Because of that, I've had some minor struggles. For instance, townspeople are attacked and killed so incredibly fast, as soon as you're receiving notice that an attack is happening. You can completely toggle that stuff off, or change the speed at which things happen after you're notified, though. Although it doesn't matter if every merchant is killed, you'll get quests to get more of them, and find some in the dungeons. Plus you'll be on to another town soon enough.

If you die, you go back and do better. You're not supposed to never ever die, though I suppose you could do that, if you tweaked the difficulty settings. Why people are stubborn and refuse to change settings off normal, and complain about things that you can toggle off and tweak is always confusing to me.

There is a lot of randomness. Maybe you got some bad rolls right off, and that frustrated you into thinking that's what the game was like. It's not. Besides, as mentioned, much of this stuff can be changed in the options, on how the game plays.
