I do notice some tricks to making a magic user in the game, mostly that they have to rely so heavily on the magic regen stat and the casting speed stat. I can do fine if I've got those high because I can usually kill the monsters before they get to me, but if a monster gives me so much as an angry glance it seems my character dies. :)
I'd been wondering about trying to either increase base magic regen, or make it a little higher on the armor so a mage character can focus a little more on being sturdy rather than basically only focusing on the regen stat. My worry though is if I didn't have to worry about mana at all it might make things a little easier... though in Drox Operative it's pretty easy to not have to worry about "mana" at all with the energy stealing items.
There are also a lot of magic spells that I feel are pretty useless, or too costly for the return you get.
Do you know what the dev changed during the beta to nerf magic?
I need to test Din's Legacy more to see what makes those magic users more viable.
