I say try it out! I bought it cos of the sale and I must say I'm impressed by this game. Focus studios really made every bit of their limited budget count.

totally, if you like games like dragon age, it's for you. But this game has a complex combat system with skills you need to unlock with leveling. If you are not enough wise building the tactics and choosing the skills, you die.

BTW, the game is very short, and it has its AI flaws, like that you kill soldiers in stealth mode, and the others ignore the corpses you left around lol.

I just purchased this game minutes ago without reading any reviews or watching too much gameplay, mainly because a very close friend of mine (A rather picky person when it comes to video games, to note.) said he enjoyed this game very much.

So under that premise I myself am excited to play it, and if you decide to make your purchase if you haven't already made that decision, I hope you enjoy it as much as I'm probably about to.

I have only just finished this and I am struggling to answer your question. This is a special game that some people will enjoy, but please note that it has "low budget" written all over it.

Things I liked:
- the premise (playing as an orc / goblin against humans),
- cooperation between the 2 creatures (but please note that there is no coop mode),
- character models (orcs are ripped!),
- partial choice between silent gameplay and storming enemy positions and
- certain quests.

What I did not like was:
- the way the game is constructed; basically as you start a quest you are transported to a new area, usually corridor-shaped, and your task is to get to the other side while defeating (usually 2 or 3) groups of enemies; at the end there is a larger group of enemies and a boss; almost all quests look like that, it feels repetitive,
- no sense of scale; game always feels like a set of locations with small groups of poeple in each of them, you never feel like fighting against an emperor, it is almost like you are settling your own private affairs and not representing an entire race in a battle against another one; they should've at least shown a map on the loading screen showing countries and your progress or shown a texture of a large city somewhere in the background, etc.; the world feels so small,
- hardly any interaction with the environment; you can only open chests and sacks and open several doors in the entire game,
- too many cut-scenes, many of which do not intoduce any new information, just talking heads and talking about obvious things,
- at the same time, the interesting events (fires, explosions, sea travel through dangerous waters) are only shown on static screens or not shown at all,
- no coop - coop would be so great in this game!; however, I admit that the game would have to look a bit different for the coop to work (there are parts of the game where only 1 character is available).

I understand that many of the above result from the low budget of this game and I wish they had a lot more money for the sequel (if they ever make it)! If you can deal with the above faults, go ahead and buy it.

Don't listen to AGabe Newell, the prick is a viral marketer. This game is absolute ♥♥♥♥. Just look at metacritic.

Cutter, if I believed everything that the metacritic told me, I highly doubt I would get very far.

i cant start the game at all

I bought it yesterday. It's not really about the gameplay but more for the setting and playing an orc/goblin. So for 5 euro it's, more would be too expensive.

By complex combat system do you mean beating hte end boss by hitting nothing but the stun button?

To be fair, this game should have been great. It had a great concept and story at first. But it obviously ran out of time, money or both and turned into a total train wreck. I wanted to like it, but wow, talk about unpolished. It is what happens to raw potential on a B game budget.

the combat is awful in my oppinion
Mister Glock Sep 14, 2013 @ 11:27pm
The Game isnt that Bad as Metascore says, story Good, Combat system isnt the best but for so many attacks it is just the easiest way to solve it,
my Opinion about the Game: just buy it on Sale
Ninefingers Sep 19, 2013 @ 7:38am
BUY BUY BUY!
I played through in 2 sittings, something I rarely do since my high school and university days.
The game looks like 5h1t and awesome at the same time but the story, setting and music is heads and shoulders above mainstream fantasy rpgs.
