Resident Evil 5
Sheva is actually the worst and dumbest partner in the world.
Straight to what she does.
Sheva will waste every bullet she has, stand around and not heal you when you're dying, Sheva will stand IN THE WAY of you when you are shooting HE grenades, Sheva will block all your bullets to make sure the enemy kills you, Sheva will even KILL HERSELF in the most avoidable situations.

I don't get why the PC version's AI sucks ass while the console's AI doesn't
uhm..even the console ai sucks donkey balls...unless we're playing entirely different resident evil 5's....

At certain extents you cna take advantage of the AI in very specific ways...

As extra storage (no guns)
its better to play some stages with AI instead of a coop partner like Ndesu fight

You may say Sheva sucks bu the AI behaves the same either with Chris or Sheva.

One thing i learned about the AI is that sometimes when you are dying u are sorrounded by enemies, if you go direclty to heal your partner he or she will get hit imediatelly and even you may die first, so if you're gonna go high dificulties just do yourself a favor and bring a shotgun for knowcking back enemies.

As you may begin to understand the AI has limitations because your are the Protagonist, giving more functionality to the AI could interfere with kills and affect negatively your results...

the game is best as coop by far - better to find a nice coop partner and have fun working as a team!

You just have to learn how to use them. What weapons to give them depending on the level and what enemy you're fighting. I can play with the AI partner just as well as a human partner and often times the AI are smarter (Sadly) ;)

Yeah the partner AI is dumb as hell at re5 and is not restricted to sheva only chris aswell
i normally just give them both melee and bullet vest,a stun rod and use them as pack mules :ada:

They're very good with rifles...great shots and they don't use the ammo too quick.

You just have to learn their behavior.

I gave Sheva a stun rod and she would constantly hit me with it

I wish there was an option to disable AI as they just eat the lead you shoot

The AI has its quirks, but I think it can be hardware-depending as well, how it behaves. For me, Shave, especially with a rifle, is simply an aimbot who clears every enemy. But I have seen people on the same level with the same weapon setup have her pretty much killing nothing.

Hardware? I don't think that has anything to do with an AI being ♥♥♥♥, I'm pretty sure it's all code.

How does Sheva "block" your bullets? You might want to try turning Attack Reaction Off so that bullets will actually ignore your partner if he/she gets in the way. Also keep your partner in Cover mode so they'll try to follow you and stay behind you, and will be less reckless.

Some AI issues are related to the Steamworks version of the game. The AI is not impressive by any means but it's not that terrible if you know how to handle it and which weapons you should actually give them.

Alternate between COVER and ATTACK behaviour regularly. The AI is not that terrible, just not advanced enough as it leaves most of the actions to the player.

While in COVER Sheva/Chris will fall back to the least powerful weapon and will stick closer to you.

While in ATTACK the AI will act more indipendetly and move around the map, scavaging/collecting more stuff along the way. It will also switch to a more powerful weapon and attack more often.

The one thing you can't usually manage well is how much ammo they consume, but at least they AI has accuraccy.
