How to start a new game?

Ok, just bought the game and tried to understand the games mechanics.

After getting a game started, I don`t find anymore the option to restart the game by any means but by deleting the savefile in my explorer and starting the game in steam-offline.

Did I miss something?

I saw somewhere that you may have to go into the files and manually delete the saved game

You can't start a fresh new game once you have already played through the game. You can allways select chapter 1 from the Capter select menu and even clean up your inventory if you want, but your gold and access to weapons/upgrades will remain.

RE5 started this trend: in general, RE games since then don't have a traditional New Game, only NG+ runs. Even RE7 NG is a strange cross between NG and NG+. The only exception is Revelations 1, where you can start a new game.

That`s ridiculous. Then I will have to do the delete save file / start offline workaround *sigh

↑ Or burn all the Gold you have on the shop, then discard every single item from your inventory and item box. That'd be pretty much the same as starting a new game without having to mess with your save files.
