Why do people like Yukari so much?

edit: wow i have been playing persona 4 for a while now almost at the ending. i should apologize to yukari. rise is so flipping annoying, i hate her. looking back at my play through i no longer despise yukari and i now appreciate her for being a good character. she had a personality outside of being a love interest. still think her social link was boring and went nowhere though.

She was bad to Junpei and was generally an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ most of the time. I did her social link and beat the game was there anything I missed about her character development or am I biased? I understand that they were unpopular in the answer but I perfectly understand why she would act that way after protagonist died

Which is the second reason why I permanently removed Yukari from my main party, as soon as Aigis joined. Her CC is just too much. What's the point in planning out your fights when you can bounce back from any mistake for practically zero SP?

In my party (which is Junpei, Mitsuru and Aigis), only Makoto can heal. I know Aigis learns Diarahan, but I ended up replacing it for more passive skills. And so, if I ever screw up somewhere, the most powerful team member has to sacrifice his turn in favor of healing.

Items exist as well, but the best ones are finite and I have a bad habit of hoarding them even if there's no real reason to.

Why do you like mitsuru? I liked them and thought they were cool but I thought they were kinda uninteresting and I romanced Fuuka instead

Cares about what she feels first rather than others. Ohh I'm a girl BosSsS... PS: Finished P3 & The Answer. And yes, her character development improves through out BUT that doesn't change that she still sucks imo.

In-battle? Awesome. Love her skills and I always use her a lot.

She is much more aggressive than she means to be in the EN version( Both voice acting and dialogue). In the JP (many other languages transfers based on since they don't have voice acting) version, she is much less aggressive in general and mostly does it when Junpei is either negative or fooling around.

In the famous, or infamous "Stupei" scenes. Originally in the JP version. Junpei was saying something like:
" I am going to give up and be a hands-up samurai".

Then Yukari replied:
“Hands up samurai"?
"You dumb"?
"......"
"Seriously, you dumb"?

And Junpei shouted out:
"Don't ask it twice"!

You can check this out by switching the audio to Japanese. You will hear the words like"samurai" and "baka".

You will also notice that the English voice acting didn't match her confusion/sad/sorrowful expression when she was offending Junpei. Because she was confused as to why Junpei said that originally.

That is just one example, there are many more scenes where she becomes mean. Even the original means to make her adorable. Like in 6/8, she is much more defensive in the EN when you call her cute and try to scare her. In the JP, she is kind of surrendered when you do the same thing. Entirely different personality here.

In short, the English localization for P3, not just P3R, ruined her character so much. So I understand why an English speaker dislike her. I mean I probably do if I start with the EN acting.

Junpei is very stupid, unsmokable for me, a teenager without brain. But Yukari is a great character on the game.

At least Junpei comes off as a real, believable human being, which can't be said about Akihiko or Mitsuru.

I wish the game gave me the option to permanently remove characters. Every time I’m forced to interact with her my entire soul wants to leave my body and fling itself into the sun.

I don’t like her as a person, she’s annoying point blank. I don’t care how much the fangirls / fanboys want to sing the praises of this character, they’re entitled to their opinions as I am entitled to mine. She grinds my gears until there’s nothing else but dust.

She’s not the only character to do that, I feel like this entire game as much fun as it is, and as much as it tries its hardest to be “deep” just ends up being a living nightmare unless you’re just horny all the time and thirsting after anime characters.

It’s like stepping into a hell made specifically to piss me off. She’s the type of person I would never associate with, she’s a fake ass ♥♥♥♥♥ hiding behind this facade of “I don’t give a ♥♥♥♥” while the game tries to shove her down your throat at every opportunity like “oh there’s more so her trust me bro”, like nah? There ain’t, we all have problems we just don’t all choose to be c*nts about it.
