Lag all over in towns?

My internet is crappy but never was a problem with maple. I have the graphics setting on low and when I'm out killing mobs, it's fine with very few spikes here and there. I step into town and all hell breaks loose in lag and I can't even move it's lagging so bad. Every time I exited out of my game, I just pressed escape, up, enter through memory. Any way I could fix this?

Lag is diffrent fow everyone. For some it is in towns, others its out fighting monsters. Or sometimes a mix of both and other players as well. If you play on channels 1-3 I'd suggest trying to play on channels 13-20. Thats where i go when i start to lag in towns. Other than that? leave the area if you can, and then re enter it.

I hope it's not too late to tell you that low actually makes things laggier for the player. I have to play on High detail to prevent lag from even happening. *leaves discussion as self thinks this is enough*

I too have been experiencing quite a large amount of lag.. It only began recently once I got back to playing the game (I hadn't played in a few months). I have troubles on almost every map, especially in the towns, it's near impossible to accomplish anything in the game, meaning that I have troubles trying to kill monsters, travel to different areas, and attempting to start quests (the mouse cursor is incredibly laggy and teleports across the screen while I attempt to click on the NPC.. It has nothing to do with the channels, I have attempted to play on the less populated ones (13-20), but it didn't help and same thing with the graphics, I altered those to see if it would work, but it too had failed. I am also looking for a solution to this problem..

Allow me to explain how maple works now. Numerous, thousands of users experience IMMENSE amounts of lag, especially in towns. Players with various set ups, some with 2gb ram, some like me with 6gb+, those with uni or quad processors, people running on xp, vista, 7 and 8. It is a problem with the client itself. Many have theorized that it has to do with the NPCs Cassandra, Maple Admin, and Gaga, which explains why many such as myself do not lag in Aquarium: those npcs are in their own rooms.

The way the client is set up is like this: When you walk into a map with those three NPCs, instead of just loading their current outfits, the client shifts through EVERY OUTFIT THEY HAVE EVER WORN. I'm not joking. The client itself is suuuper clunky and awful. The more ram you have the lower the chance of lag but right now, I'm just. Lag every time i attack multiple mobs. Solid connection, only one using the wifi (54 mbps), 6gb ram, 4.2 vram, quad core processor, windows 7 ultimate. I can run skyrim on ultra with little to no problems. It's seriously maple's fault for being poorly put together.

There are a few things you can do to handle the lag: open the task manager, set blackcipher to low priority and using only one core, set maple to high priority, close any other program using internet besides the window you used to launch maple if you used the site, turn off or close your firewall, etc. etc. It's a pain in the butt, I had to stop playing until i replaced my crappy vista laptop last year. Also, try launching from various methods. Sometimes the web launcher lags more, so use steam or another browser, or the gamelauncher file. Good luck.

When you say all that you speak for probably all the people that has ever told (or... practically yelled) Nexon about it. It's pathetic they don't even do anything about all that lag, yet it's been a problem for God knows how long (Big Bang)... anyway gonna try your tactic out now, since it's a bit more detailed than some I've seen.

Yeah it's. It's pretty freaking ridiculous. They really need to take down the client for a week or so and just repackage the entire thing. I hope it works s igh, it's so aggravating to deal with.

A week? I say TWO weeks! Thing's so messed up it takes forever to even enter a portal which would take like, what, 2 seconds?

H haha yeah it got worse after they changed the portal animations. I just. Just. Nexon. ??? They make millions but will not fix their most lucrative game.

I tried that Task Manager tactic you pointed out Pluto and... it failed. :( This is seriously disappointing because I got the Demon Avenger and I really want to level that character. If there was a petition to force Nexon to fix problems like this I'd sign it in a bloody heartbeat!

Sigh, sorry about that friend. Have you tried downloading gamebooster ? It was the only thing that got maple to run when i had vista. It's freaking ridiculous. Fortunately tons of players have stopped buying NX until they fix things so maybe that'll change their mind ? We can only dream.

If only... Anyway, no I never even heard of Gamebooster. Would that help with the lag? Also, I doubt they would... they never even followed the petition involving saving DFO. They really are selfsih, for sure. Bet if all players of the commuity never do their games no more they'd probably would fix everything.

Oh it's this free program that selects processes that slow down games and pauses them, it can be pretty useful. And yeah. Yeah what happened with DFO was awful, I joined right after the last update...last year. Ugh. Nexon needs to figure out how to do games, at least the american office does.

lol I will, and yeah it was unfair what they did to DFO... I really enjoyed making voicepaks for that game, too Had TONS more ideas cooked up in mind for everyone, at that. Bunch of fun killers, is what Nexon is. :(

Anyway, thank you for mentioning that, and it's okay, since there really is little one can do when it comes to this type of lag, especially the source of the lag (Nexon Co.: The worst place in America). XD Keep cool, bro! B)
