Ah... Maplestory, good times! It's been about nine years since I've played Maplestory (I'm 19 now). I played it back when I was 10 and it was quite the blast. However, back when I played most of the community were ranging from 14-17 when I played. To be honest, I think this game is targeted towards children and teenagers, I don't see much potential in adults playing this. But hey, if you like it, no one is going to judge you.

There are a lot of older players. I, for one, am 24. My fiancee also played for a long time and he is 25.

Since when do you need to be a certain age to play a game? Other than the ESRB stuff, I say if you like it, play it, who cares?
But as for the crowd maplestory pulls in, it's mainly 13~17, with the occasional older person, the older groups ranging from 19 to mid-30s.

This is a hard question to answer based on the general idea of MapleStory. In the past, MapleStory was based on the idea of patience and trying not to die. For that, the targetted age group was around 12-19, which had the most focus, and money, to be able to handle the intensity of the game. Nowadays, with all the new updates, characters, easy to train areas, etc, the targetted age group is around 5-10 and above with all the flashy skills and cash shop items, etc. Nexons main goal is to just keep creating flashy classes with good damage for young persons to play, and to spend money on, which of course a toddler can get out of his/her parent.

I think it's written in the code that you have to be at least 18 to have an account, and you can share your account to your child.

Heck, you do realize most of the GMs and Maple's Nexon group are possibly 25+ right?
