Stop Steam from downloading Maplestory
I have the up to date Maplestory but my steam's Mapelstory is a few versions back, so i pasted the files into my steam's directory. But steam won't recognize them and still attempts to update like normal. Is there a way to fix this?

The easiest way ive found is to completely download the steam one, and right click and go into the properties and change it so that steam doesnt look for a new update. So everytime you run it, if it needs an update it will go through the normal patcher when launching.
just delete normal nexon ms/non-steam it worked for me

If you already have the Maplestory from Nexon you dont need to redownload it on steam...

Do this...

Step 1
Go to Steam and Login
Step 2
Download Maplestory (http://store.steampowered.com/app/216150/?snr=1_7_suggest__13)
Step 3
Pause it when it hits 1% or higher
Step 4
Go to C:\Nexon
Step 2
Copy Maplestory Folder
Step 3
Go to C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common
Step 4
Paste the Folder
Step 5
Go to Steam Library
Step 6
Right Click Maplestory from Steam Library
Step 7
Go to "Properties"
Step 8
Go to "Local Files"
Step 9
Click on "Verify Integrity of Game Cache"

When its done you can play Maplestory from Steam but need to download only about X mins of files instead of 1+ hrs if you didnt copy and paste the Maplestory folder
