Cannot create account?
I downloaded Maplestory and whenever I enter my email address I get " There was an error that occurred during the process. (Error code: 20097)"

You may find it far easier and faster to simply follow the advice in this article instead: http://support-maplestory.nexon.net/hc/en-us/articles/360000712106-Having-an-issue-Repair-your-game-files-.

If neither of those solutions works for you then you may have no other option than to send in a support ticket and wait for a response through their support site here: http://support-maplestory.nexon.net/hc/en-us. You can also find this same site through their Steam Store page for yourself should you wish to do so by clicking through the links and navigating there manually.

Unfortunately, verifying game files does not work.

As suggested in my previous reply you may have to submit a support ticket since the specific error code isn't posted/shared anywhere that I was able to locate in ~15 mins of online research. As unfortunate as it may sound you might have to be patient and wait for them to reply through their support system as, sadly, they do not typically reply here on Steam or at least they haven't since I started playing (~2011). They also list many typical troubleshooting steps on their support page if you're interested in attempting them first to see if the issue is solved through typical means.

I just thought of something that might be affecting this: their authentication system has changed slightly in recent years. Have you by chance signed into their website recently and verified your account is still active? If not you may wish to do so and that may alleviate the issue altogether. Or you may have to go through the steps to verify that your account is still active by verifying you are the account owner which means contacting their support and providing some information, if I'm not mistaken.

I appreciate the help, but in all honesty I'm not going to jump through hoops to get the game running. I was having a bit of nostalgia and re downloaded it. I'm going to uninstall it now since it shouldn't be happening to begin with. I don't remember my original account info, so I was going to make another one through the launcher, but the error codes popped up.
