Reboot is free to progress just requires a bit of grind.
So if you don't mind spending sometimes and doing a little trading I would say reg. Reboot if you wanna take a more personal journey. I also do find it easier to get struggle parties in reboot as well. Never takes too long to fill a group at any time of day if you just post something like NLucian FFA struggle. Get weeklies done quick for smooth progress. Slow progress, but fairly smooth.
Or, if you are someone that just wants to slowly grind up mesos and spend them all for progression then reg. It does feel nice to just finally buy up a new clean weapon that would have taken ages to get in reboot. Reg servers also have a benefit of building up link skills and legion far faster due to event burning worlds.
If you are a new player I would just go reboot though. Getting a good map can take awhile sometimes. But it isn't a big deal till way later.
