As for social aspect well, guilds are always there.
But again, the game is nothing like the old times, if you ever want to give it a try keep that in mind.
As one of the oldest players that still play as of now. PQ aren't 100% dead in NA Reboot
Pink bean is a lot of fun, chaos Horntail and CRA, Chaos Magnus/Hilla and so much more. The poor thing about Maplestory is an very slow progression in the arcane area past lv200. It's the same repetitive daily task, as i agree it would get boring after a while.
Well with most players that rushed to lv200 and now on the endless grind of repetitive dailies. i wouldn't called that fun
Join one unless you have a fairly high amount of friends to make one (around 10 people) just make sure you join a friendly guild and not a toxic tryhard guild or overall disrespectful
I didnt appriciate the game as I do today, but the game is not enjoyable in my opinion.
I heard there are private servers of the old maplestory, but those thing are not reliable.
That is also a misconception, most the friends I made across the states and Oceans we always did quest and would explore different maps to see different mops and drops they would give plus doing MONSTER BOOK was a thing, and when the grind would stop we would all just gather in a random area and talk, let time fly by until we just agreed to do something else. Example: Me and 4 Guild mates just finished doing a PQ and when we didnt know what else to do we just started doing random stuff or would play mini games.
So not everyone was like how you described, because i was for the discovery with a hint of some social time
Again, the game never directly told you what was the best thing to do in game, if the game was so immersive as people claim vanilla private servers would be super populated but people quit after a month or two because the game is just super simplistic, quests are gated by levels and PQs get tedious, people join them to talk to the other players but since discord is a thing now in the end they just end up hanging out there.
People really, really give this game a lot more credit than what it deserves due to nostalgia, it was a pretty fun game but really flawed and not as great as everyone claims it is.
You fail to understand most people dont know about it or have grown up and have lives, the new kids that came into maple, is the new NORM. With the short attention span of some people confuses me, yet most if not all, when someone gets an invite to discord people show up and just leave. PQ was a thing back than even if it was tedious some of us had fun doing it just for the fun it gave at the time.
I admit lad this game lost a lot of players before big bang updated came out. I'm still one of the oldest that hasn't quit yet. The Pq's was fun FM ch1 was the hangout spot where you could just sell anything rare to other players. I remember i hoarded MW 20-30 mastery books which were sold for 666,666 Mill back in the day on Bellocan.
The only thing that has been a huge disappointment in my opinion is the monster collection. Some mobs just don't show up at all (random mini bosses gassy)
As for social experience right now the most you could get is from a Guild in NA reboot. We have tera burning right event right now so grab an OP class & just get up to lv200 instantly than you can enjoy content i haven't really enjoyed yet.
