Somebody here have the same problem I do? Anybody have a solution for this?

I have reinstalled and installed several times and did a diagnosis on my game files as well. Nothing works. Nothing will get me into the game. I press play, nexon game security pops up, then it goes black, into windowed mode, and then back to normal. Nothing even appears. Not an error code prompt menu. Just tells me I can press play again in Steam. This is getting very frustrating.

A few suggestions that may assist: ensure you are playing the most up-to-date version (by using the Steam verify files option), always playing through a physical-wired ethernet connection instead of wireless, making sure your OS & hardware drivers are up-to-date, and allowing exceptions for MapleStory's exe files and BlackCipher.aes through your firewall & antivirus. Those are the minimum suggestions; however, if you want to be extra you can defragment/optimize the previously mentioned files to make the game load so much faster using a (FREE) tool called IOBit Smart Defrag as it has a game optimize option.

I had a chromium virus in maple files. Might want to check for that. Playing through nexon launcher and it works fine now

Um, First off, Chromium isn't a virus. It's just a small open-source portion of the Google Chrome browser that's been added into MapleStory so that it actually loads faster on Windows 64-based OS. Nexon recently updated their game client to take better advantage of 64-bit processing and capabilities (more for Win10 compatibility than anything). Also, the Nexon launcher and Steam versions of the game are using the Chromium back-end to load not just the Steam version.

Enable windows 7 compatibility and delete Dwarfaxe.exe from Maplestory filefold.

It works for me.
