The could try to make one, but they also are aware of private servers, which even the most populated ones having barely 1k players at peak times, with this they can have an idea of how the playerbase on the long run could be and that has made them back off the idea of a nostalgia server.
I understand what you mean but many people like myself just doesn't want to play a private server and invest time in one because nexon is not the one who runs it. I personally do not want to waste my time in one because it could be taken down in any time. So the numbers you see is not really accurate, but it sure gives an idea. Though I am pretty sure it would be more active than the current one, nexon posted a picture of the old ms screen a week ago and there's more than 15k people who liked the picture, other posts from nexon has like 100-200likes if not less..
I'm not against an oldschool server, but it's a really risky bet.
That wasnt Classic, it was called Supreme and was faaaaar away from classic.
Mapleroyals is still alive.. for like 5+ years now.
Although it had a decrease in playerbase after like... 2 months after the 5th anniversary so... yeah.
From 1700 players, to 1000 to 800 on a daily basis. So actually yeah. Rip.
But still, I invested a lot of time in that server just for fun to squeeze out as much nostalgia juice as I can get. And then I was just bored so I stopped when I did like a half way towards getting to 200. I was like 172 and then I just stopped cuz it was getting kinda boring.
I know you don't want to do that (to play on an unoriginal oldschool server).. but. You're out of options buddy.
Actually. It's not even worth getting really into the server in an hardcore mode. Maybe just for the chill if you get what I'm saying. Level up just a bit maybe hang out with some folks.
I actually log in just to hang out with those people I met 2 years ago
It's sad though, you would expect to see your friend online tomorrow but the very next thing you know, is that he's gone. never to log back in again.
Despite people actually coming back to maple, I mean, oldschool players coming back because of those events
Lack of communication is not the only thing that I miss, the old UI and everything used to fit this game so perfectly. Now it's just flashy as hell and everything is the same... goes to class to anything else in this game. IF they COULD go back and bring back old ms and put popular content (in current ms) that people actually LIKE, i'm sure as hell that it will be great. I haven't played maple is years and I don't plan to .. not until they make a classic server or what I've just explained.
I watch videos from time to time...
