Severe Constant Input Lag

ok. first things first. Im not playing maplestory on steam. im playing directly from the nexon launcher off of the main site.
next, i came here because I cant seem to find anything on google that specifically relates to my problem and/or fix it.

I downloaded Ms about 2 days ago and recovered my account and made my second character. Everything was going fine until just a little over 2 hours ago when i changed my character to my first and old character from back in 2012.
a few minutes of me remapping, I began to notice a slight lag.
if i had to escribe it, it definitely isnt an input lag because it responds to my key stroke like normal, even now.
BUT

everything i do outside of hitting things responds late. key moments are

1.) clicking on conversations pops them up immediately, but if its a pictured conversation (the one with the character artwork and text) it will come up around 5 seconds late. I have had multiple instances of me reclicking and then i have 2 conversations open (quest convo box, and text+picture convo)

2.) I made a new character (ark) and the cinematic intro was extremily slow. it took 20 minutes of waiting for text box after text box to finish. it was like the moments theh next character is supposed to speak is being halted for 4-7 seconds

2.1.) the scenes where they are walking are super slow. at first i thought maybe it was intentional, until the moment where Salvo was walking backwards into me. that by itself took a full minutes of him backing up like half a step, and then stopping.

2.2.) the monsters baby stepped each scene, adding to the 20 minute record

3.) Arks attacks arent delayed but the after effects (mana cost and hp cost) are delayed, leading to incorrect health and mana levels mid fight. (Killed myself before i knew it too was affected)

I also tried the text chat. Even that has a 4 seond lag.
I've tried changing channels, i've verified in launcher, changing characters, relogging (there was a point where it wouldnt get past nexon game security for like 35 minutes after verifying.) and I've restarted my computer. nothing really worked.

Add: also cant pick up loot fast. though this was a problem since the beginning, nothing else was a problem.


any suggestions?

I know this is a super old post, but I had a lag problem for 2 years before I finally figured it out. So, If you're experiencing stutter lag (spikes every other second or so), and you are using a headset. Try unplugging the headset. I have no idea why, but I a certain headset brand had compatibility issues with the game which made it unplayable for me. I don't remember the brand name as it was a long time ago.

The loot pickup is unfortunately just part of the game and one of the reasons why pets are a necessity late game.

Thank you for your answer friend. I definitely remember using a headset a long time ago at that time. I have since stopped playing, but this may be the answer for some who will probably have encountered this problem and may stumble on this post.
