10-15 is impossible imo and is a total complete garbage of RNG.
Literally 15-17 is easier.
And 14 to 15 is hard af with 3b already depleted on 1 item. Smh.
First I'd like to say that i don't consider Luna dead. I have not played on NA servers and i don't know how many people play on those, but there are still plenty of people who play on Luna. You just gotta know where to look.
There are still a bunch of large and active guilds/alliances who are more than happy to take new players. Plenty of members willing to help with daily Gollux/other bosses, regular CRA and Lomien carries and even the occasional Lucid/Will raids. Getting people together for Commerci or Dragon Rider PQ is generally not too difficult either.
Most don't mind being badgered with questions from new players either, and are more than happy to explain whatever it is that needs explaining. The game can be quite complex after all.
Upgrading your gear in maple is definitely not for the faint of heart, especially as a f2p. It requires serious commitment. A lot of people get bored and/or frustrated and give up and there is no shame in that. I've had the urge to tear my hair out a couple of times as well.
Starforcing can be a massive pain in the bum. It took me a long time to get all my equips to 17* and I'm to scared to go further. I have enough mesos to try it for 1 or 2 equips, but it's not a priority atm.
Remember you can safeguard to 17* nowadays. For cheap items like CRA armor or sup belt you may not want to. Might cost you less to just risk it and boom a few times. But for items like your sup ring i would definitely safeguard it all the way. Save up some mesos and take it 1 piece at a time. Go in with the expectation of failing and you won't be frustrated as much. On average it cost me 3 to 6 bill to 17* an item. The worst was my hat which cost me 8-10 bill iirc, it just kept failing 10-15 over and over.
Unfortunately RNG plays a big role in every aspect of gear upgrading (scrolling, starforcing, cubing and flaming). It can not be avoided. Sometimes you'll fail several 95% success rates in a row, other times you'll pass several 10% CSS in a row. It just happens. You could buy finished gear from other players, but you'll pay a lot at once for that. I'm considering buying 30% pot pieces myself, because cubing is just a disaster.
I managed to get all my gear to unique with at least 15% luck, but getting them all to legendary with 27-30% seems like an insurmountable task. My best is my SW katara with 65% boss dmg and 10% luck. I would have prefered att% on it, but I'm to scared to recube it (except with the black cubes from reward points shop).
My Bonus Potentials are all garbage still. It really bothers me that bpot is behind such a paywall. Can't even get them from the RP shop. The only way to get bonus cubes as a f2p is by converting mesos into maple points and then buy them from the cash shop. I would recommend to only do that if you have a lot of mesos to spare and wait for a DMT (double miracle time) event. But if you're just starting out with scrolling, cubing and starforcing, you can pretty much ignore bpot for a long time. I have.
Hope my ramblings made any sense. Good luck!
