Whole Acorns Quest

So, I started a new character on the Reboot server, and I'm at the point where I have to help the doctor in Edelstein get 2 "Whole Acorns". So I went to the the acorn tree farthest left of town, and got one acorn, Now, when I attack any acorn tree, nothing comes out! I'm still quite a noob to this game, so I need to know -- is it supposed to take a million hits to spawn an acorn?

Try seeing if there is another tree in the maps to the left.

So I went to the other trees, and still nothing. Is the quest bugged?

Change channels, it might be bugged tho, that would be weird however, since the tree regens almost instantly after one has been chopped down
