No because a lot of those lines are in the Valentine's Day dialogue, which you cannot get as Djeeta for Yuel and Societe.

It's certainly interesting to see what people are cherrypicking from the mobile game to deny the gayness of the characters while not mentioning all of the scenes and lines that prove it, like Yuel in her summer version literally asking Societte "I wanna be with ya forever if you'll have me". Which comes well after any scenes with Gran because, you know, Yuel and Societte had a ton of character development in events that built their relationship after, that the people saying they aren't gay either didn't read or are pretending don't exist.

But they can seethe about it in their basements or w/e.

Cag has nothing to do with gayness.
You can argue she's trans 'cause her soul used to be a dude but that is also where it ends.
Her body is a vessel to house her soul where she is effectively immortal. She has shown no real romantic interest towards anyone, and she even went as far as explaining that she isn't capable of reproduction during one of the event stories (when she was explaining the various forms of bodies created by alchemy).

There is that yes, hence as I've said in my original post that there is sufficient ambiguity for people to interpret it however they want, but there is still no canonical establishment that there is anything beyond the spoken words. The fact that she too has expressed interest in Gran, and Societte has explicitly stated her interest in Gran, still remain.

Now, there is also no canonically established love interest for Gran/Djeeta 'cause keep in mind that both Gran and Djeeta are not really characters in the source material. They are blank slate self-insert player characters. As such, you will never have any canonical shipping.

Where I take issue is, the OP's post is deliberately trying to swing the narrative one way by making it sound like the original post is what's cannon; hence yes, I'm very much swinging it the other way to balance it out. Also, if what I'm doing is cherry picking, then what the hell was OP's post about? That's literally the same thing just highlighting the opposite side and somehow that's not cherry picking?

I mean, every time you see a "gay" character and throw a parade like they're some kinda exotic zoo animal what do you expect? It's calling it to attention. Especially in a 10 year old story heavy game such as this where there are people here who actually know the source material. You don't see a thread parading every straight character do you? Because no one cares.

But whenever there's such a character it's like you've found some kinda rare pokemon that must be broadcast when you know exactly what's going to happen when you do. You know it's going to cause conflict. So why bother? Never really understood that. People like conflict I guess? Judging by that scummy harry potter streamer harassment nonsense a few months back my guess is yes.

And you know both sides are gonna come in here and act like they're better than one another. Both sides should probably just get over themselves and just play the game, in my opinion. It's a good game after all. Sounds better than taking turns attempting to belittle one another if you ask me.
