Is it story based wheter you get the code or not?

For me it was a photo of a headstone under a "beautiful old maple tree" and an MRI photo of the brain with two patches on it, and then an envelope that says "DO NOT READ UNTIL I TELL YOU" with a letter that says: (in case someone doesn't want to go through to read it)

Is it possible that, if you're on the track for some endings, the safe doesn't open at all? Because I solved the combination myself from the homehorror.com/wtf URL, but it didn't work, so I came to see if I was wrong, and no, I was right. But it still didn't work.

I think there is a bug here for the steam deck specifically as I am unable to even enter the code in. Anyone with a steam deck have a similar experience?

Yes, same problem on Steam Deck.

You have to hit the three dots on the side of your console and go to the bottom of the list to pull up your keyboard then you can type it in.
