Bought this game about a month before the Legends update, was able to play fine despite some game crashing bugs. Tried logging on this morning and I recieve this. Any ideas to get past this issue?

Secret World Legends was down for updating today, it's possible The Secret World was as well (though I'm not sure if you were trying to play SWL or TSW based on your post).

No problem. When in doubt, you can always check the server status on Reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/SecretWorldLegends/new/) (might be delayed by a few minutes), and the launcher itself always displays the server status at the top left.
