Cannot connect to login server

So I don't know what else to do. Exceptions are set for my firewall, but i Still get the error in the title. i click play now, and get the error "Cannot connect to login server, check firewall blah blah"

Yeah this game makes you choose between playing it and security. It's insane. The devs apparently couldn't possibly care less either.

That appears to be one of the authentication servers (Steam) not playing nice again. The 'fix' identified is hitting Cancel if you don't connect within 3 seconds, repeating as needed. It's hit me before too, 5 cycles was the longest I had to go before hitting the right auth server.

Been trying this for the last 45 minutes, still unable to join. Hard to believe the servers are this busy these days that they can't even let me in the door.

Manually added exceptions for every exe in the folder. Game simply will not launch unless I lower my firewall entirely. Unacceptable. Guess I'll just wait for the next POE league.
