Triumph's

Im playing Rome and i have a lot of territory now and it seems im getting a lot of triumphs. Im not sure what im doing to get them, they involve a general or senator or something. Is there anything im gaining when i get these or are they just for show

Its about the generals, then they have commanded a few battles / one hard one and gained you a lot of land or whiped out a far larger or superior force the general gets a "triumphator" or however its spelt trait and a little movie, there are about 4 variations of it.
Wish they had put in more then one variation for slave revolts :/ playing as a slaver nation they get anoying, would have been nice if they included more then the one clip.

is it possible to get a triumph if your general gets alot of gravitas because i have one at consul rank (through promotion securing) and has over 140 gravitas
