Nope, the other one for equites to get cavalry early game. Once the marina reforms come in you get them though the auxilliary barraks
The infantry building tree are the regular barracks, rather than the skirmisher building tree which offer the ranged units.
My mistake the romans act differently to what im used to, the auxillery barracks is the roman equivilent to skirmishers but they should offer cav at the building levels 3 and 4
You need the other red bulding with the square shield on it. Forgot the name. If you look at that on the tech tree it will give you triarii, precepts and equite cavalry. I build it rather than the auxiliary barracks initially and then add the auxillary later.
