But you can use mods to lengthen the time such as 2 turns per year etc which doesnt affect achievements and allows far more time with characters, economy development and also actually taking your time to create and empire.
Personally i have always thought the total war games even with shogun 2 (damn realm divide) was far to short to allow the player to focus on economic matters rather than wars or even plan and execute an over seas invasion.
didnt see anything, unless it mentioned it in the events list, which i often ignore except for the construction page or to find out which general died and where.
